When you try to stop a service via services.msc does windows try to stop it ASAP or does it expects that the service finishes its iteration.
If the first option is true what is the best way to "soft stop" a windows service.

There's only one way to stop the service so I'm not sure that it matters too much.

Yes but do you know the steps windows follows to stop a service?

You do know that the Resource Monitor of Task Manager allows one to pause a process by suspending it. Is this what you mean by "soft"?
