Solution 2

convert docs to PDF then pdf to doc you can convert with c# but, This will create late processing.If this is not working for you then You can go for aspose api's as well.

Well... it's very bad idea to convert from one MS Word document to another via using pdf...

yes that's why i have mentioned late processing and suggested to see aspose api's
