Set fd = tb.CreateField(Me.Date1.Text, dbText, 1000)

Why are you using two bad things: Access and VB6? It's hard to help someone who does evil against oneself...

Have a look here: TableDef.CreateField Method (DAO)[^]. Probably, you're looking for dbMemo field type[^] ;)
