Moving away from oo4o

I have been put in a project where an old application (still being actively used) which was developed using VB6 needs to move away from oo4o.

As Oracle stopped support for oo4o staring release 12, we are trying to evaluate the alternatives and learn from past experiences if someone already did this stuff.

Can you folks provide any inputs on alternatives or online references.
