Master page is not working in mvc 4

Hello everyone! I am making a web application using mvc 4, C#. I add master page in views folder. Then I added a view using this master page. The problem is when I run the project, following error is displayed in the browser - 'ASP.views_viewmasterpage2_master' does not inherit from 'System.Web.WebPages.WebPageBase'
Now what can I do? Please suggest me.
