Parkinson's Law - "work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion"
And so procrastination is really just the art of maximizing free time.

I thought it was "murphy's law"

Murphy's Law is quite different - "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong"

Cyril Northcote Parkinson may not be confused with James Parkinson, but theirs analyses about degenerative things are common with Alzeimer's (Aloïs) "Forget today what you will forget tomorrow" that gives a good analogia procrastinate "Don't make today what you will not make tomorrow"

Usually people tend postpone the boring tasks.
I try to do them as soon as possible. As soon as I get rid of them the sooner they stop messing with me
In my private life tho I don't behave like this as often as I should and sometimes I have to deal with some troubles resulting from that.
But oh well... that's life

As with all unfinished business, it will still be there tomorrow. I'll get to it then.
I don't always delay doing things, not if they're fun. Now those reports that no one reads, they can wait.
It was broke, so I fixed it.

An interesting quote I once heard was "What is today but yesterday's tomorrow?"

"Don't put off for tommorow what can be put off for the day after tomorrow."
You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.

I used to be under a boss who gave me a daily list of things to be done for a website. I hesitated to add most of those features because they really sound like a bad idea. Usually in the afternoon or next day, he would ask me to cancel those changes.

Hahahaha! I used to have a manager that practiced "Management by Crisis." He would come to me and tell me to drop everything I was working on because of some crisis.
We would talk over the problem and agree to a solution. These solutions would generally take about a week to implement.
Generally two or three days later, he'd come to me and tell me to drop everything to deal with a new crisis. [Repeat]
So I learned not to do anything because he would never let me finish a task before some other hot item would jump up and need to be fixed urgently.
Somehow, he never realized that none of them were ever being fixed.

In my organization they assigned me task, after an couple of hours they assign me some 'URGENT' task and first task was procrastinated by a day, Again after couple of hours same process repeat
So I think its Depends upon priorities of task
