It is not because of renaming.

Are you opening rdl file directly from report server using IE or are you using report viewer?

I am running the report directly from the report server using IE7.

No. Renaming has nothing to do with design. There should be no problem in SSRS display because of a file rename.

Make sure the page design has not changed when you opened the file to rename. It might have gone un-noticed. You can use any comparer to see the difference of the previous file and the current file. If you find the files same then re-deploy on reportserver and see if it helps. In case there is/are differences in design, take back the old file and rename it.

If you know of any comparator, example WinMerge - you can find the difference in the two RDL's. Internally, RDL's are XML file and hence you can easily see if there are any differences in them.
