I can't see why the author should be excluded from voting. On the other hand I don't see the benefit of voting your own articles, I'd rather let others to judge the content

Some people are under the mistaken assumption that the reputaion points on any given public forum actually means something, or or the the points have an intrinsic value that transfers over to them personally.
Given the opportunity, how many facebook people would "like" themselves a billion times to give the appearance that they are somehow popular?

Hasn't helped me at all professionally. I'm sure that if I mention my rep points at review time they add 10% to my merit raise...

On CP the points do mean something, since privileges are unlocked by gaining reputation. I certainly don't want spammers to have the power to post articles without moderation or to approve their spamming buddies' articles. I also don't want trolls to disapprove legitimate articles or edit other people's questions for fun.
What is this talk of release? I do not release software. My software escapes leaving a bloody trail of designers and quality assurance people in its wake.

Seems like it's definitely a bug, we can't upvote our own comments here or accept our own Q&A answers, so it seems weird that articles are different. And even if it's by design, surely it shouldn't award rep points.

Yup: one of the gourmet food trucks in LA served a burger with peanut butter and jelly. It was amazing.

Place here does that, but the other half is allergic so I tend to avoid stuff like that and only indulge when she is out of town.
That said, it is really good, they also grind bacon in with the patty, fry pickles and put them on the burger, along with a few other wonderful options.

Once again, I see Christianity being mocked in the lounge. Why is it somehow acceptable to attack Christian's personal beliefs here? Are Christians supposed to simply ignore the jabs and taunts?
If you don't believe, that is your choice, but please don't attack others that do.
If you want to attack them, please do so in the Soapbox, not in the lounge.
Do I expect to be ridiculed? Yes. Why? Well, only those that choose to ridicule can provide your reasons, but history has shown that anyone who believes will be attacked.

Where was cristianity mocked in the lounge? I did see a post about easter but it seemed serious and not mocking in nature.
As for celebrations of the godess Eostre, that is not christian. It is an alternative to christian beliefs, but that should be allowed if christian beliefs are allowed.

I did get that impression.
It is funny how christians are appalled when people don't follow their beliefs and offended when people follow Norse or Celtic beliefs.
