Let me preface this comment with: I agree with you.
However, I also understand the concern of all the 'doomcriers' out there, screaming about how GMOs are going to kill us all. They're probably screaming a bit too loudly, but we certainly haven't been using GMOs for long enough to say for certain that they won't cause any long term damage to the human race.
Personally, I doubt that they will. There really isn't that much difference between GMOs manufactured in a lab, and those created traditionally through selective breeding. I just hope the scientists haven't overlooked something important about GMOs that nature already takes care of...

How can a GOOD Friday be morbid? It's almost weekend and it's particularly good or we wouldn't be calling it GOOD Friday. Yet it's about a dead man on a stick. I call that somewhat morbid
If you'd check out some "egg factories" you might agree that eggs are actually pretty morbid as well

Well, technically he's not dead on the stick. When he's dead they take him off the stick. And technically it's not a man ... well, not just a man anyway, at least to those responsible for naming it Good Friday. If it was just any old man and any old crucifixion (the Romans got through thousands of them in their time) then that would be morbid. But if you share the vision of this particular crucifixion, like Karl Barth, as the 'death which is the death of death', the eternal event in which 'the radical and inexorable claim of God upon men triumphed and believe that 'the life which springs from [that] death is wholly pre-eminent over the life which engenders death and is enclosed by it', then how can it be anything other than Good? It is the very antithesis of morbid for it is an invitation to throw off every concern, every fear, and every uncertainty about death in the knowledge that it is death itself that is dead and buried and stripped of all dominion.
Of course, if you don't share that vision then, yeah, it's a man dying on a stick. It's just not a stick that you can beat Christianity with without looking like a petty reductionist.

Probably pretty much in the same way that Christians (or any theist) believes their God(s) do exist.
We can't really prove each other wrong.
I will say this though, IF there is a God and IF he is almighty he is a sadistic bastard for making us kill and fight each other and ruining the world like we do (and often in his name too)

Well, I don't think God does anything since he does not exist, but if he does and he is omnipotent then why are we fighting and killing each other (currently in the Middle East, for example)? Surely he knew this would happen, or he made it happen, and he does nothing to stop it.

Actually, no. I have had experiences in life which have proven to me that God is real. However, god will not force us to believe in him, which means he is not going to appear to you and try to convince you. It is your choice. Each individual has to make the choice and effort to find out if god is real or not. It's your choice.

That comparison makes no sense. Kids NEED to go outside, be active, enjoy the sun and fresh air, play, just be kids. Keeping them inside would do more harm then letting them play outside and risk injury (most accidents happen in- and around the house anyway). If I could stop them from getting hurt while living their lives, then yes, I would do so. Unfortunately, I can't.
I don't have kids by the way (thank God! I really dislike kids  ).

Many people, with many different religions, have claimed their God(s) is/are the only true God(s).
I find it all very fascinating, the Romans, the Greek, the Egyptian, the Northern, the Celtic, the Slavonic, the Japanese, the Chinese, and whatever old pantheons have you. And now Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, and many variations thereof.
They have been the source of idiocy, war and hatred, as well as love and inspiration.
They all have one thing in common though, their God(s) is/are the one and only (which is funny when you think about it).
Your God is no different, nor is my non-God.
Perhaps we can all agree one day, I really hope so.

A criminal could convince himself that the law isn't real. But it is still subject to it.
A little rabbit could convince itself that hawks aren't real but that doesn't mean they will leave it alone.
God's word says the people being tormented would LOVE the chance to come back and warn you, but if you will not believe the scriptures you would not believe if someone came back from the dead. There are people screaming and flOpping around in very real pain in very real fire who would DO ANYTHING the chance that people alive have to REPENT.

A person could make up a God, a heaven, and hell, but that doesn't make it real.
It didn't work for any other religion besides Christianity (if I am to believe Christians) and there have been plenty!
Such "arguments" go both ways.
Anyway, let's leave this discussion because people are never going to agree on politics and religion (and some other stuff too).

It was also used as an excuse, over almost all of the last couple-thousand years, to torture, murder, rob, loot, rape, and otherwise pillage those who didn't share those belief. (Jews, initially, but then, with the hope and promise of earthly wealth, the crusades showed the true color of it all: the original blood money if every there was any).
