I just don't see why. Lots of people in CP certainly agree with you but all their complaints about Microsoft could also be said about most other vendors. But no one is even close to doing a better job than Microsoft.

Just look at the last four versions and look what happened. Three times out of four, with Vista, Win 8 and now Win 10, they tried to push some grand ideas down our throats, wether we wanted them or not. They even went out of their way to kill off their previous grand ideas in order to usher you to the next one. Somewhere else in this thread someone wrote something like treating customers like cattle. That's what I call being taken as a fool, twice for every time they said 'oops' and came with their next horrible thing. By now we obviously have no more choice at all, at least according to Mickeysoft. They hijack your computer against your will and feel free to spend your bandwith in any way they please, possibly even creating an extra bill, but your are right: They are really doing such a great job. It's not like anybody is having severe difficulties after finally falling victim to their intrusion.

Yes, of course, except in this case we're not talking about an update, but a full upgrade.
Interestingly, I'm using an entreprise version of Windows 7 at home; I never saw any sollicitation to upgrade to Windows 10. Do Microsoft fear being sued by entreprises for upgrading systems without full compatibility having being tested? I wonder if a class action could make them back off.

Sorry, I guess you confused me with someone else with whom you were arguing.
Perhaps you don't know what "potato potato" means. That is quite possible. It's really an audible thing. In American English there are 2 common ways of pronouncing potato. But either way, it's still a potato.
An update or an upgrade, who cares? It's still their software, not yours.

I bought the OS, as well as the computer to make it run. So in my point of view, they are fully mine.
I get your point, though; what a world it would be if marketing people were not allowed to treat their customers as cattle anymore.
