They are in the office at work. should be able to trust the Wifi. Also, I had used my personal hotspot to make sure said laptop's VPN was working so my wifi was trusted.

Hmmm, that's a totally different story than what I have heard: they went to Sweden, but the fiendish ABBA would not talk with them, so on the ferry back they dumped their LP's in the ocean

There's a million versions of the story (it's the KLF, after all) but the basic crux is that ABBA sued them over a record that would otherwise have sold about 12 copies. It was a pretty shoddy thing to do but the irony is that it played a large part in bringing the Justified Ancients/KLF to fame.
It's well worth a listen, there are few things in life that beat a good Bill Drummond rant!

I had to look that up too. As far as I am concerned, the KLF were treated exactly as they deserved, possibly even better. This episode gave me an even greater respect for ABBA than I had previously. I already had a minuscule opinion of those who think sampling the work of others constitutes original music and think they are somehow deserving of respect for it and this definitely reinforced that.

Well, from a legal point of view ABBA probably had every right to take action regarding copyright etc, but on the other hand my thoughts are: didn't they make enough money already to bother about small time crooks, or pirates if you prefer, like the KLF ?

As far as I am concerned, money had/has absolutely nothing to do with the matter.
It's kind of like trademark laws in the USA. Unless you enforce your trademark rights you can lose them. For ABBA, as soon as they open the door to people sampling their work then there will be a flood of it.
