Yes, but 1) is simple enough - you can backup (from) individual tables as easily as the whole database, and 2) well, I guess that depends on your clients, but unless one is pretty big (or gets a pretty impressive amount of hits or large data requests) they are unlikely to cause any noticeable difference to anyone else's response times. SQL Server can cope with (was designed to cope with) multiple users, and large amounts of data. And besides, unless you are going for a dedicated server (in which case this whole discussion is somewhat irrelevant) then you will be sharing your SQL Server instance with a lot of other users anyway, and it really won't make any difference whether you put all your data in one or more databases.

hi guys. i am working on url rewrite module that works fine on Visual Studio asp.net development server, but not on local IIS.
i will minimize my code. here is rewriter class:

If you want a solid solution, don't try to write it yourself because there is alot more involved in generating pdf documents in a reliable manner than just using a single method. Do a google search for pdf creator assembly modules. There are plenty of them out there and the cost is minimal and much less than the cost associated with developing one in house.

No one can help you with converting "any" type of document. That is an unrealistic requirement. Anyone who tells you they have something that can handle "any" format is lying.

I am inserting some text in texbox and there is range validation set as minimum as 10 and maximun as 100. But when i run the program, though i insert the text atleast or more than 10 characters, it is showing the error message of this range validation. So I am confused how to set range so that user has to input atleast 10 character minimum ?

If you want to set the maximum length of textbox you should use MaxLength property of textbox instead of a range validator. range validator just validates if the value entered is between minimum and maximum value specified.

Hi,
I am using gridview to show my data from the database. I have autoGeneratedColumns set to false but I do need the shorting properties by date. I set allowShorting to true. I have fields like date and FirstName. Is it possible that i can short either by date or FirstName both. Like whenever user select by date, it should be shorted by date and whenever user selects by FirstName, it should short accordingly. Can I be able to do that ?

The GridView class has a Sort method, so you can easily sort programmatically. What you need to do is choose a way for the user to request the different ways of sorting you want; maybe add a few buttons?

Thanks for the reply. Ya I did use sort method but I want to have two columns sorting. For example, there are two columns ID and Name , then when user clicks ID, it should sort with ID and when user clicks Name, it should sort with Name. Is there any way to do that ?

I'm somewhat familiar with DataGridView (in WinForms), not with DataGrid.
However, have a look at DataGridColumn.SortExpression, I think it is the key to what you want.
