Are you using table?
Enclose your label in table row and column,
specify the width of the TD.
If you fail for the first time , call it version 1.0.

Hello,
I need to write a web based controller that can send a hex based message via the serial port. The message out of the port is are expecific messages for the device that we built and thus, is nothing like any internet based messages. I want to create pages with controls on it that will create those messages depending on user inputs and send them out of the serial port.
I have Windows ME and Windows XP platforms. What do I need, software wise, to be able to create such a monster?

For IE it sounds like you need to write an ActiveX control and embed it in the web page(s). I don't know about other browsers.

Thanks for your help. I guess from the viewpoint of a stand alone PC tied to a device directly via the Serial port, this would work fine but, does the activeX control allow me to have the page at the main server and still control the PC at home via the internet?
Sorry for my lack of experience and knowledge on this area. I have done web pages in the past and was the "Webmaster" for a Corvette car club but I never got deep into all the possibilities in HTML/web.

Well it is all about "processes" right? I mean the code executes in "a process" right? Whatever machine that process is running on that is where the serial port will be right? ASP runs on the server so you could use the ActiveX control in ASP code to execute on the server machine, or you could use the ActiveX control embedded in HTML to execute in the browser and therefore on whatever machine the browser is running on.

Hi all,
I am creating an dynamic page , in that page there will be 3 (for example) div layers, each layer has it's contents such as calender, link, news likw this. The admin of this site can change the menu(Div layer) order, assume that Calender is place 1 and Link in place 2 and News in place 3, if the admin drag the div layer 3(News) over the div layer 1(calender) and drop there means, the oreder should changed as News is place 1 and Calender in place 2 and Links in place. I found solution for drag and drop, but i cant able to get an idea for the dragover or replacing the position. Plz can any one suggest me to how to do this using javascript??

After drag and drop of News on the Calender position the apperance should become like this:
