The issue with sorting by date is that there's a risk that a single thread can take over a forum. People see a thread, add a comment, and it pops to the top. Someone then sees the thread first and comments on it and keeps it at the top. As the most visible thread it's also the one most likely to get a comment, and hence most likely to stay at the top. Eventually you have a 20 page thread that effectively blocks the rest of the forum.
It is why theses forums show only 1 line per thread and when you click on a thread, it switch to another page where the full thread is displayed in 1 page.
Otherwise, I agree with you, it would be a problem with actual presentation.

I have noticed, since the move, that I'll see that I have replies to posts but when I click on the red number, nothing happens or I'll get to the list of replies, click on one and it goes nowhere.
I have also noticed (it just happened) that I wrote a response, clicked on Post Message and it did not appear. (Still not there after about 5 minutes).

This is probably the spam filter still adjusting. I do apologise: we've retrained it, it has lots of data to go in, it seemed to be working fine but it's gone off target again.

I responded to the Code Project question "Return Value From Excel Macro to VB.net Application" yesterday but the response was deleted as spam. Can you please either let me know what was wrong with it or put it back up? It was just additional technical info about an old, but still relevant, question.

Maybe, but trying to follow the instructions in the original answer cost me an hour, because they don't work in the case I described.
However, it doesn't really matter to me anymore. I thought (and think) that my comment might save someone else the time and frustration I went through, but if you're happy with the existing answer, then so am I.

If you mean a subscription to a newsletter, you can unsubscribe via Settings > Newsletters & Emails > Save my Settings.
If you mean to close your account, you can to this via Settings > Account > Close my account (checkbox on the right) > Save my Settings.

Having previously reported someone in error, and have had 2nd thoughts after I've clicked on some members
