The later author actually references the original as his inspiration. I believe the more recent author Frankensteined the original article for his purposes, but without proper care. I will suspend Frank and see if the author is willing to revisit his creation.

Well, I wonder: did someone banned the account just because someone called himself "Niger"?
That it something I would not be sure about. This word is acceptable depending on the language, not just culture and does not have to be ideological. No one protests the name "Nigeria" and many similar things which merely conduct a notion of the color. Everyone understands the conventionality of the notion: a human skin cannot really be "white" or "black"; and I think all reasonable people agree that it cannot characterize a human's personality in any way.
And all kinds of self-identification belong to some shaky ground… So, what could be the reason for removing of the account?

That's why I said I wasn't sure, I just pointed it out and let admins make a decision... it's hard to tell in an international site what people mean when they use certain words. In any case, the account was fairly new (only had one post), so it wouldn't really hurt the user to chose a different name and open another account.

You're applying American criminal law to a website... It's really just up to the admins to decide... not that I disagree that everyone needs the benefit of the doubt, but its just not necessarily the case in a site.

Sorry for being unclear; I'm not trying to apply American law, not literally; I just provide the example of reasonable approach, the analogy.
As to the "American law", well… there is no such thing even formally. In my view (sorry for the off-topic and questionable private opinion), there is no real law it all. There are written federal laws, state laws, a lot of exaggerated activity, but to me, it does not look like a Law from the capital letter 'L'. Well, in some other places, it's worse… 
As to the principle of "reasonable doubt", the principle of "presumption of innocence", they are fundamental principles of the society. I hope not just Western…

I've had one of those before. Maybe we need to refine our spam hunter capabilities and wait for for one who picks up the bait.
