Google has announced that from June 30th this year, its widely used AdWords and DoubleClick advertising services will no longer allow uploads of ads built in Flash, forcing users to code their display ads in HTML5 instead. From January 2nd next year, Flash ads won't run at all on DoubleClick or the Google Display Network. When even advertisers don't want to use the technology...

It's unfair that Flash was singled out from all the JL members. Either ban them all or ban none I say!

Not sure how it's pronounced - could be Jink or maybe Jin-Queue (the website's title writes it as JinQ).
Jinq provides developers an easy and natural way to write database queries in Java and Scala. You can treat database data like normal Java objects stored in collections. You can iterate over them and filter them using normal Java commands, and all your code will be automatically translated into optimized database queries. Finally, LINQ-style queries are available for Java!

It's more the Java version of EF really since it's DB only. Maybe they should have called it Jeff!

Jinq was initially developed by Dr. Ming-Yee Iu as part of his PhD research while at EPFL.
Funny they don't reference their actual thesis paper. 
I just wouldn't trust my product to something like this. Maybe it's just me.

I dunno - there have been so many "announcement by press conference" lately (Arsenic life, FTL neutrinos in Italy, a few others I'm blanking on) that I'm leery. I'd rather they wait until they get the numbers done.
