Instead of doing forum watches the way you have them, how about a tabbed preview like the lounge has for each thread type, if you're worried about real estate?

That really only makes sense for The Lounge (and, maybe, The Soapbox). Most other forums pretty much stick to a single type of message (for thread heads anyway).
Now, it would be nice to have an "unanswered questions" ForumWatch...

No, no, no, what I meant was using a tabbed display for the watch forums so that you won't have too many windows on the right hand side, just one with tabs. Then again, it may not look good either.

I like the latest post in the CPHog profile. Any chance you can add it as a watch forum? Also, any chance you can add the watch forums to the main CP page? Once in CP, I had to click on Lounge before I could visit CPHog which is annoying.

I actually just threw that in for kicks... see if you can figure out what the real new feature is...
(hint: find a user who has recently changed their nick...)
Bassam Abdul-Baki wrote: Any chance you can add it as a watch forum?
What, something that always displays a user's last five posts? Yeah, that'd be do-able. You could enter a ticket...
Bassam Abdul-Baki wrote: Also, any chance you can add the watch forums to the main CP page?
Where would you display them? The main page is pretty crowded already - anything added to the right column is just gonna push the existing boxes further down...
...actually, that brings up a more interesting question: if you could pick anything, what would you like to see on a "CP overview" page?

Help me help you. Why don't you just tell me the name of a user who changed his nick?

Yup.
It's hardly perfect, since it'll only look at the last 50 posts by a user to determine what other names they've been using... and of course, it does nothing about users who just create new accounts. But it is handy when you see an unfamiliar name and are wondering if it's someone you'd normally recognize...

Can't you just get the IP address from the database of each user and query against all names using that IP? What if the users changed names more than once, do you list all?
P.S. - The latest post in the Math forum tipped me off.

Well, i don't exactly have unfettered access to that database. But even if i did, that'd fall apart as soon as someone posted from a shared IP address.
Bassam Abdul-Baki wrote: What if the users changed names more than once, do you list all?
Yup. If you see a post by "Nathan A.", then bring up his bio - something like six different names across the last fifty posts.

We actually don't get any information from the DB. CPhog just pulls DOM manipulation tricks and XMLHttpRequest magic against the same exact CP pages you get.

I've actually seen this a few times recently. But i updated something like five other extensions at roughly the same time i updated GM, so i didn't know what to blame. I'll have to take a closer look next time it happens...
