No, I need to download video which is located at server to user's local path/network path.

Ok I found the problem, I can now save the video via webclient.download file. But I would prefer to send video bytes in chunks and for non-public videos.

When I request the url "http://videovlt/videos/7bf9d10b-4006-4b44-9626-e3751df2f4ce.mp4" then video plays. Same error on fiddler !

The videos may not be public but when I test the way you suggest I get "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error." error..

The problem is; server can't access the embedded server, so the embedded server side must be done client side, but the mp4 file is located at server side. So I need to get data from code behind and send it from client side? How can we do that?
I can get bytes from webmethod but can't send them to javascript side!

And I need to play local video file from this http server.

When I go this address from chrome "file:///E:/test_videos/test.mp4" the video plays.
But when I try to do it from httpserver just chrome gives the error.

It is so much confusing..

Update: I could play video on firefox and IE, the error occurs only in chrome.

Or I should change the way reading stream for video file but how? I can do it in web project using mp4handler, but I don't know how to implement that handler for embedded http server library.

yes, when I call "file:///E:/test_videos/test.mp4" from the browser the video plays. By the way the error occurs in the method Process(HttpListenerContext ctx) of Nancy.Hosting.Self library. what is wrong..

Thanks for your answer. I'm testing the sample for my requirements. It is ok for txt files but for mp4 files I got "c# The specified network name is no longer available" error and stream is empty. Do you have any idea about that?

Running chrome with --disable-web-security parameter worked. But I have to find out a way to do it from script since I can't ask customers to set those settings for their browsers.

Once I set the "Access data sources across domains" for IE from internet options it works without error for IE, but I couldn't make it work for Chrome and Firefox! I'm desperate , please help.. cors plugin for chrome doesn't work!

They are not on the same server, web project will be on web server (in this case on a virtual pc) and any client will have their own embedded http server to handle client responses, I know it sounds weird but I will save a video file from user's desktop to shared storage via the web project. I'm sending ajax request from client's browser and embedded http server will handle the request.

I have to do it on client side not on server side, I have to improve the existing code.

I could get byte array from reader.readAsArrayBuffer(files[0]) and send with ajaxRequest but sending 500mb file made created a problem, how could i send the byte buffer in small size ?

Interesting issue; I could play video on firefox but the problem was chrome, it somehow works multithread and throws error!

When I debug I noticed that it is entering SendFile method more than once somehow, this can be the issue, but I don't know why that happens. Another question with this method I can't jump to forward in the video, how can I do that?

It seem first I need to download to the server to save as to local pc.
If there is no way to download any mp4 link to user local storage then i will try this way.
