thanks for the reply. but this also didnt work. there is an interesting thing that ajax is not running on my PC but the same code works fine in my friend's laptop! Both of us have got ajaxcontroltoolkit.dll(3.5.11119.0)

no, its not updating! After entering new(edit) value I am fetching the text of 'txtname.text' into dummy textbox but new value is not been fetched into dummy!

I have done like this:
int.TryParse((gv1.Rows[e.RowIndex].Cells[2].Text), out phone);
and then
cmd1.Parameters.Add("@s_phone", SqlDbType.Int).Value = phone;
Now I am not getting error but table is not updated. Also phone gets value=0!
