Yeah man I experienced that first hand. But Im only gonna use this code to search a database record by name.So mostly names are about 4 words long. For names that are longer I will get the last 4 words and shuffle the words and search.
On a completely different note can you tell me how to write a code to right click on a data grid view record and open up a form to display and edit that record?

Thanks for taking your time to reply.
But the issue I need solved is much more simpler.I just want to get data from a dbf file to an access database with a vb code.with sql statements like INSERT.
I dont want to import the dbf files to access if there is a way to directly append the dbf data to access table rather than opening the dbf file in access and running an append query.
If I can just append the dbf data directly through a vb code that is what I am looking for.
Please help me if you can.
Thank you

I dont know how to thank you OriginalGriff. You are a life saver. That was the thing I was looking for.But can you tell me how to access the folder without using the current date?like
Dim j2 as string = string.Format("F:\LatestDownLoad\{yyyy}_{mm}_{dd}_JunoDownload\JUNO_2_SURVEY\BASELINE_points_JUNO2.dbf")
This way I could rename yesterday's files also. The code you gave will only rename the files in today's folder. Can you suggest anything.
Thanks in advance.I will be following you on codeproject.
Thanks
