i solved it but i am still a bit confused, that's why i am asking you this question again, please see this in a updated question not in answer. last time you told me two important things, follow the bracket and one if statement cant have to else, but if you look the updated quesion, one if statement started on line 36, than one else started on line 39 and another one in line 46, you told me it cant happen and second thing you told me i should follow the bracket carefully, i think answer lie their, cause i am not saying you are wrong, but i wanna understand it more. that's why i am asking you how can i follow the bracket properly, so i can know preciously where one statement is opening and where i am closing it. and last time as you mention that } which was on line 38 should move down, yah i have to move it down on line 45a and it works. i did not want to change the no. in the updated question that's why i gave the no. like 45a, 45b like this. thanks for the help

i think i was doing some stupid mistake, as may be cause i dont know much this time what i did in database car, i created a new user name : member and grant him all privillages. so according to this i changed my coding accordingly.... now its like all the things are some but the changes are on line 4 and on line 5 cause i give the new password to my new user too its. redblue... so now the coding is
1.
and i check the privillage for this new user: member as well its says, type-golbal, database specific, privillage-all privillage, grant-yes,
but after running now its showing me this error
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_selected_db() in C:\xampp\htdocs\PhpProject1\index.php on line 14
thanks
