Is it your requirement to save in viewstate. Or is it fine if we can add row without using viewstate.

Its in the requirement. that i should hold the values in the view states until the user complete the insertion process... when he complete his process, then he will use a button to insert all of grids values in database at once.

that error has been resolved .... now i have a grid ... from which i can insert values... but what i want is that... i want to store my values in viewstate till the user complete insertion... when he complete then a method will insert all the values stored in viewstate will move to database

My suggestion is use Session variable of DataSet or List<> objects.
Even better, construct classes for your objects and populate them from gridview data entry and stick them in session variables.
(Remember to clear, rebuild session variables on the appropriate first page load events etc.)
Google "Disconnected datasets", as it is a big area of discussion.
