How to make the dropdown list to incorporate user entry also

Hi,

I want to make drop down list as an editable field.
For Example: In my drop down list I already have
Gandhi,
Mathi,
Nathan

but in future I may need to include Kathir also in the list so I want the dropdown to react as textbox at that time. So that I can type 'Kathir' in it and that name will be included to the existing list.Please help me in this.

The post is related to combo box isn't it?But in Web pages I have drop down will the same work in my case.
