Isn't ranting the first step in the process of creating a new forum from the lounge? IIRC it took several years of ranting about cricket commentary, badly translated jokes that didn't work as typed, and inspirational stories before they were all moved to GIT[^].

The drop-down sign-In option on the homepage is not working on my latest chrome version. When I hover the mouse on the sign-In option, the drop-down panel becomes visible, but none of the text-boxes are taking any user input. For signing in, you have to navigate to the sign-In page first. My current chrome version is 45.0.2454.85 m.
Apart from Chrome, I have checked this in IE 11 and FireFox 42.0a2 (2015-09-07)(Dev) and the functionality is working perfectly fine in these browsers.

A couple of simple experiments demonstrated to me that much shorter answer text is posted successfully on the same page, and the text referenced above gets "pending" status on other answer pages, too (sorry for contaminating the site's data with my tests).
It does not seem logical to me. I never observed exact same behavior before.
(I observed somewhat similar behavior, but very different: an answer could get "pending" status if, at the moment of posting, the question appeared to be auto-deleted due to some abuse reports. This would be explainable, but still unclear, because it sometime happens and sometime not; I could not spot any regular pattern.)—SASergey A Kryukov

Your answer might have been picked up by the spam detector and sent to the moderation queue; I remember seeing other QA posts with "Pending" status that were linked from the Spam & Abuse Watch forum by Protectors. However, I have no idea why your answer would be picked up by it.

Add the ability to upload an image with a bug report. Would save us from having to save the image to some online cloud spot and posting a link to that.

It's already there - you just need to be a platinum "Author" or "Authority" to use it.
It's listed on the "Privileges" tab[^] of your profile - the ones with the green tick are the ones you can use.

Why? If it's hosted on CP the admins can see it, which is the only important bit.
We don't want images visible in unmoderated forums simply because some stupid children will post inappropriate content, and that makes it more likely that CP gets blacklisted by over-nannying corporate blockers.
Articles and so on are fine, because they are moderated - but moderating every message would be a total PITA.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...
