On line 903 in Edit.aspx: SpanNode.innerHTML is an empty string. But I'm sadly lacking knowledge in this domain to feel that it's worth the time to fiddle with it. If you know where to look or what data you need, I'll give it a shot. Otherwise I'll simply use Chrome. So either MS has done something about it, or something in my environment has changed. But I haven't actively done anything about it.
