Can you please let me know if Visual Studio 2011 Beta can be installed in Windows 7? If yes, will I be able to create a metro style ui in Win 7.

If VS2011 is not compatible with Win 7, will I be able to use the other features of VS2011?(with some incompatible features excluded)

If the only reason of installing VS2011Beta is to do actual development, I would strongly suggest that you reconsider. Using a Beta for real development is a recipe for real pain later. There is no guarantee that anything you create using a beta will be usable in any way with the release version.

As it happens, the Dev center[^] does not mention Win7 in relation to metro UI apps - only Win8, so I would suspect it won't work.

Yes, you can install it. No, you can't create a metro UI if it's installed in Win7.

If it wasn't compatible, I suspect NONE of the features would work.

Get VirtualBox, install the Win8 preview in it, and then install VS2011 on Win9. There's no reason to corrupt your *working* production environment with the crapware that Microsoft has the temerity to label as "beta".
