Hi,
Gmail requires SSL ?
If .NET 2.0 allows to add SSL support, then I'll soon add SSL support to pop3 client.
|
|
|
|
|
|
I don't see that jmaildotnet supports SSL.
And also 1939 defines pop3 protocol only, no SSL support for pop3.
LumiSoft current version supports all defined RFC 1939, if thats what you need then, you have found free suitable pop3 for you.

Does any COM component you have or in .net 1.1 that can connect to gmail.So, you are saying that it is literally impossible to write ssl client using current framework.Let me know , i am curious..

I have .NET 2.0 components (SMTP/POP3/IMAP/DNS/FTP)
>that can connect to gmail
Does gmail requires SSL ? I don't know, one guy said that, I can't be sure.
If it doesn't require SSL, then you can use my pop3 component to connect ot gamil.
No, It's possible to add SSL, I just haven't done it.
I have currently put all efforst to adding new features to mailserver.
(User groups supportm shared folders,...)
You can get latest from:

Just checked gamil requires pop3 ssl.
I just made some tests .NET SSL stream works ok for pop3,
so pop3 SSL can be implmented.
This takes week or two, before i can add it.

Busyboy,
I just tried mentalis and for SMTP it has TLS, but its not working for Gmail for some reasons.
I have posted a message on their forum here. http://www.mentalis.org/forum/thread.qpx?id=734.
There code does support 1.1, and they have a new version in 2.0 also, but i have not tried that as i to run it in .NET 1.1.
If you have found a solution please email me.
regards
gerard

I have a little problem with the decoded subject.
If I read special german character in the subject, the decode fail.
for example:
Subject send "abcd efghi jkl blablaßbla 1 mail@address.com "
=>
Subject read "abcd efghi jkl blablaßbla 1 mail@address\t.com "
The special char seams to be decode correct, but always in this case, a fews chars later there's a Tab sign!

Hi,
With what you read subect ?
(Mialserver won't decode and won't change subject field in any way)
|
|
|
|
|
// getting the byte stream
byte[] messageData = popAccount.GetMessage(actProcess.mailCnt);
// encode btw. using mime
MimeParser m = new MimeParser(messageData);
m.subject => is wrong

i'll try in the next days ... in the moment there are to much to changes in the appliction necessary ..
i'll post the rsult
big THANK YOU for the fast support

A BIG THANK YOU!
This is the first freeware (i've found) that hasn't porblems with the "iso encoding" in subjects.
I only understand a small part, because I'm a total newbie in c# (only a few days).
Theres a small problem if you copy and paste the example code:
using(POP3_Client c = new POP3_Client()){
c.Connect("ivx",110);
c.Authenticate("test","test",true);
POP3_MessagesInfo mInf = c.GetMessagesInfo();
// Get first message if there is any
if(mInf.Count > 0){
// original byte[] messageData = c.GetMessage(mInf.MessageNumber);
byte[] messageData = new c.GetMessage(0);
// 0 is the first mail => it should be used as a counter form 0 (to mInf.Count -1)
// Do your suff
// Parse message
MimeParser m = MimeParser(messageData);
string from = m.From;
string subject = m.Subject;
// ...
}
}
Don't forget to include the following namespaces to read a mail:
using LumiSoft.Net.Mime;
using LumiSoft.Net.POP3.Client;

>This is the first freeware (i've found) that hasn't porblems with the "iso >encoding" in subjects.
I'll try to make my best.
Code example is updated now:
/*
To make this code to work, you need to import following namespaces:
using LumiSoft.Net.Mime;
using LumiSoft.Net.POP3.Client;
*/
using(POP3_Client c = new POP3_Client()){
c.Connect("ivx",110);
c.Authenticate("test","test",true);
POP3_MessagesInfo mInf = c.GetMessagesInfo();
// Get first message if there is any
if(mInf.Count > 0){
byte[] messageData = c.GetMessage(mInf.Messages[0].MessageNumber);
// Do your suff
// Parse message
MimeParser m = MimeParser(messageData);
string from = m.From;
string subject = m.Subject;
// ...
}
}
