It is our understanding that unity android doesn't support x86.
Are you able to get unity working on x86 android? Is it a beta release or a developer build with support for x86?
Please confirm and I will let you know if a unity android game will be accepted.
As long as it can run in the emulator, it should be fine.

It looks like it isn't possible to test a Unity Android game from the market since the emulator doesn't support it.
Android for Intel Architecture is able to work with most of the Android app store content.

* Assume there is no limit on how many words we should put into the article?
* For those entries not in the winner's list, their articles and source codes won't be published, right? And probably removed from your archives as well?

1. There is a word limit to an article, but you are unlikely to hit it. Worst case, we make it a 2 part article.

Hm, if people win, they are probably OK with codes being published since they are already rewarded. However, for those who do not win, I think people would prefer keeping codes to themselves.

Can we use tools which they can convert codes between languages such as mono for android or can we mix different libraries in our project (such as ndk, gtk).

As long as it runs on Android and uses NDK you're good to go. Anything else that's added is up to you.

I know you go over it in the Terms and Conditions but I am not very good at parsing legal jargon.
Will you be distributing our source or compiled app in any way, or is it strictly for code review?

The competition works like all other competitions in that the goal is to, ultimately, allow other developers to learn from your code and article in order to allow them to get started in writing games.
Your article and code will be published on CodeProject.com like any other article.
I understand there may be certain proprietary pieces of code you don't wish to share, but we're assuming that a $25,000 grand prize will more than make up for any inconvenience you may face in writing code that doesn't use proprietary information you don't wish to share.

What about arts and sounds? Not that I'm planning a complex game but It will probably include some assets not authored by me, at least some pixel art and a background music. Some questions:
1- ¿Can the game include any loadable asset at all or all must be done by code?
2- ¿Must the assets be created by myself?
3- ¿Can use downloaded Creative Commons assets (pixel art, sounds) not authored by me?

2. No, provided the below is met.
3. Yes, provided all of the assets either come from works supported by the Creative Commons license, or uses a license that does not conflict with any existing licenses that CodeProject supports, or has permission of the author of those assets provided those assets are not protected by licenses or terms not covered by CodeProject supported license or the attached Conditions of Entry.

Please, regarding the 1000US$ prizes you are saying end of the month.. but when specifically ? now it is 25 July.. If I submit now do I still have chance to receive the prize this month ?

The deadline for the monthly prizes will be on the 6th of each month. If you submit now you will still be eligible for the July monthly prize
As long as the engine you're using (and app) work on the intel emulator (see link to emulator under Resources You'll Need) then you are free to use that engine.

The rules say that the game should be based on NDK, but andengine is java. Is it okay to use engines that do not use NDK?

I'm inclined to say that as long as the engine and app can run in the Intel emulator, then it's okay, but I'm just waiting for confirmation on that before I give you a definitive answer.
