Wow! Never seen this before. I tested with RAND() and FLOAT and it's the same behavior. Did you find any explanation?
|

Interesting.
I wouldn't have guessed that!
I'd suggest that's worth a quick tip (and possibly a list of what it does in various versions?)
For the record, I tried it in SQL Server 2012:
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 - 11.0.5343.0 (X64)
May 4 2015 19:11:32
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation
Express Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.3 <X64> (Build 10586: )
And
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3156.0 (X64)
May 4 2015 18:48:09
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation
Web Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.2 <X64> (Build 9200: ) (Hypervisor)
And got the same results
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

|

|
Now, that is weird and wonderful!
I wonder what else I can do with that...

Wow, that is truly horrible.
I'd describe that as a bug, pure and simple.

This is crazy - how is this possible! It's as if the NEWID() call is passed as a paremeter into the function and called three times?????

|
|
|

That function should be called WTF....

Just going through and doing an email clean-up when I thought I'll clear the cobwebs outta the spam box too.
So I select them all, hit delete and am greeting with message
Your Spam folder is empty
Here are some great videos for you to watch
Which is then immediately followed by an autoplaying flash video. Huh? Wut. Close the (disabled plugin) video only for the text to change to:
Your Spam folder is empty
Why not take a look at some great videos from Yahoo7?
If I wasn't attached to my 15yr old address, I'd have dumped them a long time ago.

Is it any wonder they are doing so poorly?

Oh man... in that case I was never born. I don't have any pictures from the day I was born.
Probably I simply popped up in this world.
Oh, and probably Cleopatra never existed either. I never saw an actual picture of her (images of her, paintings of her etc don't count as picture - in my understanding, picture equals photo).
In fact, I met her too. I asked her for a picture but she said that she wasn't in her best day for a picture. Maybe the next time

I am answering my own message because the purpose is to keep the message hidden.
Apparently I am supposed to show you a picture. It is a scar made by Cleopatra herself. It seems the real experts will know that this scar, even if it's light, is quite similar to a scar that she had herself and is not known to the public.
Cleopatra's Scar
Hope the experts see it in time.
By the way, to RPG players, Cleopatra is a kind of a Setite Vampire that can go out during light time

Yay for Microsoft. After almost 10 minutes it still doesn't display

It loaded for me instantly. And yes, he does seem to be a bit crazy. Just a bit.

Thank you for recognizing my crazyness.
But I really believe I am a little more crazy than simply "just a bit".
Anyways, I am glad you recognize it
It is always good to be recognized.

It was not sarcasm. I like to be called crazy since I was a kid. In any case, thanks. For real, you are helping me.

But who are we to say who's crazy?
Does Crazy = (!normal) ?
And what is normal anyway?
Normal for the Species?
Normal for the Society?
Normal for the Community?
As far as I'm concerned it's the rest of the world that's crazy.
|
|
|
|
|
Normal for society? No.
Normal for the species? No.
Normal for the developer community? Maybe.
That means I am, in a very loose estimation, 75% not normal, or 75% crazy for the parameters evaluated.
So, this is more than "a little bit". 😏
