We have a textbox within a formview (edit item template), that is within an update panel, that's in a multiview, that's in an update panel (phew).
How can we use the aspx.vb code to edit textboxes.
I'm assuming it's something like:
formview.textbox1.value = "10.00"
I can post more code if needed.
Thanks!

Hi Friend,
Normally I used conditional way to insert records in database by using "Insert into Tbl_Name etc..." query in c#. I just want to know that Is there any other way to insert or fetch the data to and from the database in Visual Studio 2005 like by using LoginView control or any other control? Please tell me if anyone of you know about it?

Abubakar Malik

Here is some code:
create this event if you don't already have it.
protected void GridView1_PreRender(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if ((GridView1.PagerSettings.Position == PagerPosition.Top ||
GridView1.PagerSettings.Position == PagerPosition.TopAndBottom) &&
GridView1.TopPagerRow != null)
{
if (!GridView1.TopPagerRow.Visible)
{
GridView1.TopPagerRow.Visible = true;
}
}
if ((GridView1.PagerSettings.Position == PagerPosition.Bottom ||
GridView1.PagerSettings.Position == PagerPosition.TopAndBottom) &&
GridView1.BottomPagerRow != null)
{
if (!GridView1.BottomPagerRow.Visible)
{
GridView1.BottomPagerRow.Visible = true;
}
}
}
Hope that helps.

Unfortunately it didn't help with the showing of the Footer or Header when the grid's datasource property has 0 rows. Basically the insert/add new section of the grid is in the grid's Footer. When there are not rows to display for editing, I would still like the footer to display so that users can insert a new row.

Hi all,
I am learning asp on the fly here so I need to understand how to turn on control the repeater conditionally. Meaning, if my "linkflag" column in my table = 1, I like to make that row hyperlinkable (if not possible to make entire row clickable then just col1) and display a checkbox with a checked state set to true (indicating that is a hyperlink row). How do I accomplish this? Here is what I have so far. Thanks
<%@ Import Namespace="System.Web.UI.WebControls"%>
<%@ Import Namespace="System.Web.UI.WebControls.Repeater"%>
<%@ Import Namespace="System.Data.SQLclient"%>

Dim Flags As Int
connSerial = New SqlConnection("server=myserverDB;UID=myID;PWD=myPWD;Database=myDB")
Dim cmd As New SqlCommand("sp_mystoredProc", connSerial)
cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@mylookupNumber", textSerial.Text)
connSerial.Open()
myDataList = cmd.ExecuteReader()
Repeater1.DataSource = myDataList
Repeater1.DataBind()
myDataList.Close()
connSerial.Close()
End Sub

hey i tried man
its working
दुनिया-भर just copy and paste it in your resource file
whe you paste it , it will show as boxes, but when you leave the cell it will show the letters in hindi.
Whenever you update the resource file you must rebuild it. (not build Ok)
Cheers
All the best

Please don't cross post.
You can't print anything other than a page. If you want to print a single value, create a page, put the value there and print the page.

Hi,
I am having trouble running a .bat file from my web application.
The file is run by the server but it doesn't perform its function correctly.
I can run the .bat file on the server my self and it works fine, so it not written wrong, but when run by my aspx page it just doesn't do what it is supposed to.
I have tried a couple of different methods and neither seem to work.
The app is impersonating an admin account on the server with full domain admin permissions, and the .bat file is running accross multple servers.
does anyone have any Idea what may be the problem?
many thanks

Hi,
I need to read the contents of a xml file and upload them into a database.
Do we have any xml specific class which could be used in this scenario.
Thanks in Advance:
Rakesh

Using XmlDocument you can load your xml file.
The namespace would be System.Xml
You can use the Xml Path to acces your nodes in your xml file accordingly.
To see more examples on xpath refer w3schools.com

Thanks for the response
I am already using XMLDocument class. Let me tell you what exactly I am doing:
I am reading one set of record of an xml file and opening a SQL connection and inserting the data and then closing the connection. If I have 100 set of records in the XML file then my application opens connection 100 times which I dont see appropriate. I want to do it at one short. Read all the sets from the xml file, open the connection and insert all the records and close it.
Do we have any way to do this?
Rakesh

|

Why are you opening and closing the connection? Why not open the connection and command object, loop through the records in the XML file building the SQL on the fly each time and runnning the query. Only close the connection once your done.
|
|
|
|
|
Yah thats really a simple idea.
But I see one issue here. Let say that there are 100 sets of employee records in the xml file and the process finished inserting 60 of the records and suddenly the connection is lost, then what must be done. I mean how can we track the record to be inserted next.
Thanks:
Rakesh
