I have tried the code from many sites but it didnt solve my problem. I can make the textbox visible false in design time but when i try to make it visible, they are not being displayed.

hi,
u have mistaken here..
yaminilatha wrote: code to make visble true:

when u want to make it visible u have to first find the control and then can make it visible = true.
here is code in vb.net
dim text1 as new textbox
text1 = ctype(datagrid1.item.coloumns[10].findcontrol(IDofTextbox),textbox)
text1.visible = true
or u can make it false
text1.visible = false
Thanks,

Hi plz answer the following if possible.
1. What happens if there is no global.asax file in asp.net project, will it run.
2. What happens if there is no web.config file in asp.net project, will it run.
3. How many web.config files can a asp.net project can have.
Thanx,
yamini

|
|
|
|
1. Nothing is gonna happen, if you don't have a Global.asax file. But you can't write code for the events such as the Session start and application start.
2. A web.config file will be added to your site by default. And if you delete it.
I think the site is not gonna work. As all the connection strings , debug attributes and a whole lot of things reside in this file.
3. You can have as many web.config files as you want.

|
|
|
|
Thanx, for your infn.Is Nothing going to happen to the project if there would be many web.config files means there wont be any confusion if i write session infn in one file, connection string in one file and security aspects in one file.

Hi,
I wish to know whether it is possible to create an application in asp.net/C# that can manage the controls in another application? (Like a control panel tool)
For ex.,let us say that an application has a label called Reference. While installing the app, if the label is irrelevant, i should be able to use the other application to disable the label.
Is that possible?

No, an ASP.NET site is self contained, it's not going to control any other app, web or otherwise.

hi all,
i am using web parts in my project.
in order to use web parts ,i need to provide personalization for the logged in users.
by default the newly created user details are getting stored in default tables aspnet_membership.
but i want to store the user values in the my own tablw which i have created in my database and i need to provide the personalization for those users.
for example:
i have a table for my company employees details.
i need to design a local web site which has a customization property.
my web site must allow my company employees to customize their page .
i need to get the user details from my employee table and provide the customization facility for them whe they logged in to the sute.
Main think is instead of using the default aspnet_users,aspnet_membership table i need to use my own table which i have it in my remote DB.
can any one help me out to slove this problem...
thank u...

<table id="TABLE1" style="width: 400px; height: 64px;" language="javascript" onclick="return TABLE1_onclick()"><br />
<tr><br />
<td rowspan="2" valign="top" style="background-color: red; width: 130px;">
hi above is the code for my table(part of it)
how can i change the table height to fellow the size of the web page?\\
in html i simply declar hight = 100%
i tryed it here but doesnt seem to be working or am i using it wrong?

height : 100% should work, I thought.

Hi every one,
I need help in making a page to post back when another page postsback, lets say when a button is clicked in the other page!!
Your help is highly appreciated..
Thanks

You mean, you have 2 web pages? 1 is parent and another is the child?
Example:
parentWeb.aspx -> main web page.
parentWeb.aspx call another webPage (ex. childWeb.aspx).
When user click button on childWeb.aspx, you can make parentWeb.aspx post back by this way:
On childWeb.aspx:
var wndParams = window.dialogArguments;
opener = wndParams[0]; --> parentWeb.aspx
function onButtonClick()
{
opener.doWebPostback();
}
On parentWeb.aspx:
function doWebPostback()
{
document.Form1.submit();
}
Hope this can help you

hi all
I've implemeneted microsofts default membership provider, everything works great. I need
to restrict users from changing their password to a password they already used in the last
x months.
Does anyone know how the default membership provider can do this? If not, any ideas on how
to implement it?
we have passwords hashed, so we cant really store em outside of aspnet ourseleves.
thanks in advance.

Ass far as I know you would have to extend the MemberShipProvider to add this feature
only two letters away from being an asset
|
|
|
|
|
but where do we save the passwords? and how do you compare them? they're hashed.
|
|
|
|
|
You would of course need to save n number of previous password hashes to compare the new one against. Where to save them is up to you but a simple update trigget on the table could be used.

Hi,
I have a validation summary control (bulleted list disp mode) that i want to update not(!) when the page is submitted but while i'm doing client side javascript validation.
Is it possible? And if it is possible, how do you add a bulleted message?
Thanks a lot in advance and happy passover!

Thanks mate, but this doesn't answer my question.
I want to use validation summary capability of displaying and managing a bulleted list of messages. Only i want that the range validators will write their error messages during client side validation and not during submit.
|
|
|
|
|
Does anybody know if it's even possible?
|
|
|

all ur validation controls have EnableClientScript = true property.. that means as soon as the text changes, the validation will fire..
and wen u`ll click on the submit button, the validation summary will be displayed.. and no page postback will occur...
so check.. EnableClientScript property..
