The GridView class has a Sort method, so you can easily sort programmatically. What you need to do is choose a way for the user to request the different ways of sorting you want; maybe add a few buttons?

Thanks for the reply. Ya I did use sort method but I want to have two columns sorting. For example, there are two columns ID and Name , then when user clicks ID, it should sort with ID and when user clicks Name, it should sort with Name. Is there any way to do that ?

I'm somewhat familiar with DataGridView (in WinForms), not with DataGrid.
However, have a look at DataGridColumn.SortExpression, I think it is the key to what you want.

i have declared the name space like this...,
using ABPort.portWebServices;
now how can i acces the web method which is in ABPort.portWebServices for my textbox which is in another project page...,

hi,
i recently encountered a new problem in my site
when i enter in my site i see this error
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Invalid object name 'Menus'
i use somthing else instead of dbo schema
i think if i change my schema to dbo this problem will be clear
isnt it?

Based on the information provided by you, we doubt that.
Further, the object name 'Menus' doesn't sound like a schema issue. It might be something related to your code or configuration.
What's the point of doing a Hit-N-Try to resolve your issue? You should first find the reason and then try to make changes.

what is 'Menus' ?
do you have a table or stored procedure with this name?
if you have any query using this table or stored procedure ,make sure that the 'Menus' is in the database.

what is 'Menus'[2]?
if Menus are a database schema and you use this schema in procedures, functions or tables problably this schema doesn't exist in production database. create them and resolve.

Both Client side and server side validation must be there.
Client side validation will help in better usability, because if user enters some wrong entry
then you'll show the error message from client side itself.So there will be no postback.
Server side is also required because say a user enters right entry from user interface but during posting the data to server some malicious user changed the entered value in some way, then in this case server side validation will be required.and wrong data would not be saved.
Keep in mind, this will only take place when user enters right value from User Interface

If you are using any of the Client Side validation control, please make sure you are using Page.IsValidate at the server side. If some one disable the javascript of browse, client side validator will never works as this runs on Javascript. Page.IsValidate is ensure that each control validatation at server end. If use check

When you Check for Page.IsValidate, ASP.NET Call Validate() method for each and every control to ensure the validation pass, if one of them fails, it will return false.
