Why did you expect that format ? Did you ask for it ? That's a custom format, you'd need to come up with a custom format string to pass to the ToString method.
10 seconds with google gave me this[^]. I googled datetime tostring. I suggest reading the article I link to in my sig.

In MS Aceess we use yesornO datatype but in SQL Server 2005 which datatype should use instead of yesorno datatype.

This question has nothing to do with ASP.NET. Please ask in the right forum.
The answer is bit.

But not so urgent that you'd consider buying a book or searching the web ?
A datagrid fills itself with data based on a template you provide. You specify which columns you want to display and how you display them. So, you create the template so that when it's rendered, it creates hyperlinks. That's all. If you can't follow this, try posting what you tried, and what you want to achieve. I can't be more specific based on what you've said so far.

Hi,
I placed a LinkButton( for Logout control) in Master Page and property Visible = false.
I want to make Logout button visible after user logins & i have to redirect to another page .
I used the below logic in Login_Button_Click event:
{
LinkButton lbtn=(LinkButton) this.Page.Master.FindControl("lbtn_id");
lbtn.Visible=true;
Response.Redirect("Page3.aspx");
}
But its not working.. When i traced the program i could able set Lbtn.Visible=True.
But its actually not applying in Page3.aspx.
Please help me .. How can i solve it.
Thanks in advance.

The way I would do this, is to make a base page class which has a MasterPage property which returns the derived master page class, not the base. Then I'd expose properties. I would never use FindControl, what a hack.

Hello everyone, I have got stuck in a big mess. The situation demands creation of a DTS package based on a query in SQL server and then execute it to produce the output in a text file. My problem is that I am completely new to this DTS stuff, so can anyone please help..??
Here is the exact thing I want to do :-
1. Create a DTS package based on a query.
2. Execute the package using .NET.
3. On the completion of the DTS package execution, send a mail stating the success or failure of the DTS package execution. The mail should be .NET generated.
Below are the things which I have tried to do on my own and my queries regarding the same :-
1. I have generated a package for a particular query, using SQL enterprise manager but dont know how to pass parameters to the package when executing it.
2. Is there any way to make the above package creation dynamic? I mean can we create a DTS package using .NET?

If yuo are running in code already why do you need to make a DTS package? These are normally called from a scheduler or filewatcher to load/extract data. If you are in control of the situation (as it appears from your post) then why not just execute the query directly?
However, it is possible to dynamically modofy DTS packages by using VBA code to modify job steps. I am not sure if you could create a new package directly from code, but I suspect you could as they are just database objects.
BTW, do you mean DTS packages or are you using VS2005, where you use SSIS as this is a whole different kettle of fish

Thanks for the reply Bob,
Yes I am talking about the DTS packages and not about SSIS. So far creating and executing of the package is concerned, I am able to do that now. For the time being I can do away with creating packages manually like I have already explained and then execute it through a stored procedure.
The third step is still a problem for me, i.e. send email stating the success or the failure of the package execution. Although SQL server gives us the option to send the success/failure mail but the my mail contents are dynamic and depends on some parameters coming from my .NET application. So is there a way to signal the ASP .NET application about the DTS package execution completion? I hope I am clear with my words.

Sorry, its so long since I did any of this I can't remember the exact details, but I am sure you can make your DTS package return a value to indicate sucess/failure.
Probably not much help I'm afraid.

Can anyone please tell me wats wrong wit the following lines of code.Am tryn to remove the duplicate values in a dropdownlist using dropdownlist methods n properties.
dt is in DateTime Format
ListItem lst = new ListItem(dt.Month.ToString("00") + dt.Day.ToString("00") + dt.Year.ToString("0000")) ;
if (!Week.Items.Contains(lst))
{

You created a new listitem. That item is not in the list, even if another with the same text, is. So, you need to search for items that contain that text. They are two different things.

Thanks Christian,
am adding the items to the dropdownlist through two functions,wenever the code is run,these two functions are called alwes.
after adding some list items to the dropdown list thru 1st function,am checkin if the dropdownlist already contains the item that am going to add through the 2nd function
if (Week.Items.FindByText(dt.Month.ToString("00") + dt.Day.ToString("00") + dt.Year.ToString("0000"))=="")
i think this is also wrong....as FindByText returns a list item.
Can you tell me how to do it using the properties and methods of the dropdownlist please.
Regards,
Arun.

check if it's null, if it is, the item is not there.

Hi,
I'm about to put together a system for file storage. The idea is that a user will have his/her qwn account and once loged in the user can upload files, tag them, comment them and make them public or private. All attributes of a file are to be stored in a database.
Other users shall be able to search file types, names, comments, tag etc of a file and as long as the are public it should be able to download the file or get the file mailed to a specifyed address.
The system will be developed in ASP.NET.
have anyone heard of a similar open source project I could use for help and inspiration? I find i unnessessary to reinvent the wheel
Regards
Andreas
