I'm talking with you about an aspx file within an ASP.NET project,
of course I can debug such a file.
it doesn't matter, if it includes the <%@page> tag it works and all the works.
but in this case the java scripts doesn't work for me.

hi,
I need regular expression for denying white spaces and having the string of atleast 6 and at most 20 characters. I need it for validating passwords in my application.
I've searched regexlib.com and google but most of these expressions make u enter a string passwords which is not my requirement. I just need to restrict spaces and length thats it.
Thanks in advance
Rocky

Welcome, Glad to know that it helped. AFAIK, the pattern I provided is bit lengthy. I don't know if any shorthand pattern available for matching special characters. If yes replacing the special characters with that would make it small. But it really doesn't matter in functionality.

This looks overcomplicated and doesn't actually meet the OP's requirements. To deny white space, all you need to do is this:
^\S{6,20}$

Yes, I know. I have said this in my second post.

How can you tell this ? Your code is simple, I agree. But my code works and the OP has said that already.

The OP's request was for a regular expression that denied white space and had a length of 6-20 characters. The match sequence for non-whitespace characters is \S .
N a v a n e e t h wrote: But my code works
But it didn't solve the problem at hand. Your code was doing a lot of unnecessary stuff relating to matching non-alphanumeric characters. This was completely irrelevent to the correct solution.

Maybe the OP didn't understand your code and was just being polite...

Hi all,
I want to check the operating system of the user before i load the web page.
Step 1 . I did insert the following into the tags of my page:
<-->
function checkOS() {
if(navigator.userAgent.indexOf('IRIX') != -1)
{ var OpSys = "Irix"; }
else if((navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Win') != -1) &&
(navigator.userAgent.indexOf('95') != -1))
{ var OpSys = "Windows95"; }
else if(navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Win') != -1)
{ var OpSys = "Windows3.1 or NT"; }
else if(navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Mac') != -1)
{ var OpSys = "Macintosh"; }
else { var OpSys = "other"; }
return OpSys;
}
// -->
</-->
Step 2. I inserted the following anywhere inside the tags:
<-->
var OpSys = checkOS();
document.write(OpSys);
//-->
</-->
However, Nothing comes up when i run the page?

You are using document.write inside a script. I guess it wont work.
. Instead you can have a alert statement.

<b>alert("OpSys");</b>
return OpSys;

Why ? As you know, HTTP is stateless. So without using any state management techniques, I don't think that it is possible.

Hi,
you can use checkBoxlist control for that.. And in selectedindexchanged property uncheck other checkboxes.
Else if you want different checkBoxes then set AutoPostback = "True".
And write code in selected index changed property of both checkBoxes.
Hope it will help you.
Thanks,
Sun Rays

Checkbox will not do that. If you want like that only, try with JavaScript.
Or
Are you talking about RadioButton??

Use a radio button instead. Checkbox control is intended for multiple selection.
|
|
|
|
|
Instead what's the problem in using radio buttons ?
Thanks and Regards

U hav to use AdRotator control for tat. First u need to store the list of images as binary in the database. Then u need to convert it from binary to image and make it available in ur adrotator control. U can use the impressions property of the control for an ad to be available in seconds
