Here is something you might want to investigate.
There is a webservice which validates email addresses. Try the example out; it seems to work.
You could validate the email address and not create the account if it does not validate.
Jut a thought.

Hi,
what does this code do ?
<script type="text/javascript">
loc += "UserControls/Editor/";
WYSIWYG.attach('txtSharh2');
</script>
and
My Editor file is in :
~/UserControls/Editor
But gives the below error :
loc is undefined

It looks like the code was suppose to define the usercontrol's location. loc should have been a client side variable that has defined root URL to which you add your usercontrol Url.
Based on the error, it looks like you missed writing/copying the loc variable declaration. To get away error, define the variable before assigning a value. And based on my assumption of usage, probably you would need to initialize the variable with root folder path.

Thanks !
but now i get this error :
"WYSIWYG' is undefined"
MY Code is :
<script type="text/javascript" src="<%# GetUrl("UserControls/Editor/scripts/wysiwyg.js") %>"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="<%# GetUrl("UserControls/Editor/scripts/wysiwyg-settings.js") %>"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var loc = location.host;
loc = location.protocol + "//" + loc + "/";
loc += "UserControls/Editor/";
WYSIWYG.attach('txtSharh2');
</script>

Same reason. WYSIWYG must be defined somewhere. Check the documentation from where you decided to use this editor.
Either WYSIWYG must be defined in it's JavaScript itself or you need to define some place.

Did you look at their: ASPxNewsControl DevExpress Documentation[^]
Further, look at their forum (they have a good one!) if something similar was asked earlier. Posting your question can get you more quicker and accurate reply.

Thanks for Solution!
My Code is like this but the Problem is that i dont need that child form be open once more.(in other word : after i click OK the child form to be closed and only parent should be appear!)
<br />
<script type = "text/javascript"><br />
function Open()<br />
{<br />
var Return;<br />
Return = window.showModalDialog("ChildForm.aspx", "", "dialogWidth:670px;dialogHeight:600px;")<br />
document.getElementById("txtFirstName").value = Return.firstname;<br />
document.getElementById("txtLastName").value = Return.lastname;<br />
}<br />
</script><br />
<br />
where Open() will invoke, upon onclick event of a button, like,<br />
<br />
btnOpen.Attributes.Add("onclick", "Open()");<br />
<br />
and what will you do in your Child page, is:<br />
<br />
<script type = "text/javascript"><br />
function Close()<br />
{<br />
window.close();<br />
}<br />
function OK()<br />
{<br />
var vReturnValue = new Object();<br />
vReturnValue.firstname = document.getElementById("txtFirstName").value;<br />
vReturnValue.lastname = document.getElementById("txtLastName").value;<br />
window.returnValue = vReturnValue;<br />
window.close();<br />
} <br />
</script><br />
<br />
which also will work on click event of buttons(in my case, i have used two buttons, OK and CANCEL), like,<br />
<br />
btnOK.Attributes.Add("onclick", "OK()");<br />
btnCancel.Attributes.Add("onclick", "Close()");<br />
<br />
this code open the cildform once more.
BUt if i write call OK() in onunload child form it works ok!

Hide the link on click of which child form opens. You can hide it on close of child window first time.

Can anyone explain different overloads of TryUpdateModel method? with examples, as it should bind only mapped properties and all unmapped properties values should be same as previous values, that means it should update the mapped properties only but i dont know why it is creating new object and updating the values and returning that object.
And i have to update only few properties how can i do this?
And how to bind complex objects?
what is the use of "prefix" parameter? and all

For now, based on what you asked, use AJAX to do your stuff with partial rendering of the page.

Hello Everyone
I have a scenario of restricting the user not to close the browser without logging out properly.If anyone have done this before please help me out with this.
Thanks in advance.
|
|

There is no defined/fixed way to completely handle the scenario. There are various ways one can exit an application without logging out.
On your side, do make sure session timeouts are set to logout users. Handle page unload event and try to send an AJAX request to server to logout - not a 100% accurate rate it will work.

Hello,
Think that your web site gets thousands of users, everyday, like social platforms. Which structure do you think answers your requests? Web security, speed etc.
MVC, Entity Framework, Asp.Net sqlconnections , Linq to SQL?
Thanks four your ideas,
Have a nice day.

MVC is cleaner than Web Forms, and with a social platform you'd be doing lots of AJAX, which you can do very well with MVC. So for your base framework, I'd go with MVC.
Your data layer is another story. You can achieve good performance with pretty much any data connection technique. However, as far as maintainability and good design, I'd go with LINQ to Entities.
alexalexalex1907 wrote: web site gets thousands of users, everyday
Facebook probably gets millions to billions of users every day. Thousands every second or minute. Just FYI.
As far as scaling goes, MVC on a cloud platform (e.g., Azure) should work very well. A database that can scale well is also a good idea (e.g., SQL Azure, which can do sharding).
