I assume that you have got a webspace, and FTP address to upload. Then do the following
1. Copy all your aspx, dll's, global files and config files to the server through FTP
2. Set up the connection string that you may use for DB connection.

Well, I guess there are a couple of things that need to come together.
First do you have a web server?
Is this an Intranet web app (only on your network?)
Or is this an Internet web app (the world can see it?)
Are you using asp.net 2.0 or 1.1?
There are several ways to copy or publish your web app files to a web server. They are different based off which version of .net you are using and some things like are front page extensions loaded on your web server.
Next you would need admin rights to the web server.
Make sure the correct version of the .net framework is installed on the webserver.
Once you copy the web app over you need to set up your site IIS manager.
To get to iis manager right click on my computer and click manage.
expand services and applications.
Expand IIS Manager
Select the web sites folder right click and new -> web site
You need to know where your code has been copied. And you need to know what the URL for your site will be.
NOTE if this is an internet app you will need to register your URL.
It is common to have your source files in c:\Inetput\"webappname"
Once the web app is set up you need to make sure it is pointed to the correct version of the .net framework.
If you right click on the web site and go to properties.
Click on the documents tab make sure your default page exists. It is common to have a defaul.aspx.
Next start the web site. Right click on the site and click start.
Finally, you need to set up a DNS entry so that your Intranet knows where your website exists.
Anyway, that is a quick overview.
Hope that helps.

Go to IIS(type inetmgr in Run)
Go to the virtual directory you have created. Right click on the Virtual directory -> properties -> ASP.NET tab -> Change the Asp.net Version to 2.0.50727
Then Refresh virtual directory

Hi all,
I have two asp images in an update progress which I'd like to display side by side. However, no matter what I try, the second image always appears below the first...
...can anyone shed some light on how to do this properly?
Thanks,
Martin.

Two apostrophes?
martin_hughes wrote: However, no matter what I try, the second image always appears below the first...
If that was true, there would be no solution, but I believe that you just haven't tried the correct way of doing it...
I think that you have to show some code, to show what you are trying to do.

It's clearly not my day - the board decided to interpret and my original asp:image tags and strip them out!
Anywho, I think I finally hit upon the right combination of options (for IE at least, no doubt every other browser on the planet will bork it).
What I hadn't taken into account is that the UpdatePanel is hosted in a regular Panel with a width too small to accomodate both images side by side, so it was wrapping the second to the next line. Changing the width of the panel helped, but still left a small gap between both images.
To solve this I hacked some CSS together to set display:inline;float:left; for both images, and this seemed to do the trick.
/me goes to throw away the hair he's pulled out in frustration trying to get this to work.

That's because of the backwards way that they have chosen to handle html code in the forum. They allow anything and remove code that looks dangerous, which means that you can't paste any markup without encoding it (or use the "ignore HTML" option).
martin_hughes wrote: To solve this I hacked some CSS together to set display:inline;float:left; for both images
Note that making the elements float automatically turns them into block elements, so display:inline is ignored. (Or, at least it should be ignored, but Internet Explorer still handles it differently sometimes...)

Hello everybody,
Can anybody help me how can I implement ISAPI Authentication in my application using C#.Net?
Are Form Authentication and ISAPI Authentication one and same?
Anticipating for your answers!!!
Thank You...

ISAPI is Internet Server Application Programming Interface.
Saranya B wrote: Are Form Authentication and ISAPI Authentication one and same?
I think both are different. ISAPI authentication is used in the IIS. Basically they are programs (non cgi executables ) written to interact with the webserver requests. There are basically 2 types of ISAPI programs. Extensions and filters. ISAPI filters can modify incoming and outgoing requests. Main problem for this method is, it can stop your webserver from working once this programs got crashed.
Saranya B wrote: can I implement ISAPI Authentication in my application using C#.Net
I am not sure regarding this. I think it is done at the end of IIS. Could you tell me why you are so specific on using this method ?

My application will be used by internal users and also users from outside.
So, I cant use windows authentication.
And the requirement is to use ISAPI Authentication.
Any idea on how to implement this?

If this happened to me I would get a web config from another project and compare it line by line and pay special attention to the sections you changed.

Using ASP.NET you can create folder on server. Not on remote machine.
