You can use "FileUpload" control of Asp.net.
FileUpload1.SaveAS(Server.Mappath("Path"))

Hi,
I am having a tool (windows based application, created in VB 6.0). I am having the SETUP file for that tool to get install in the desktop and use it (windows application).
Start-->Programs-->MyTool
How can I use this tool in my website? (I don't want this tool in my desktop anymore) All the inputs to this tool wil be provided using Web forms. The tool gets the Input , process it and returns the output in the web form itself.
Please let me know the logic behind this?
Regards,
Jay

Hi
Any one can help me solving this problem? I use Server.Url function to encode the Url but it results false. For example, the value of Server.URLEncode("http://www.w3schools.com") will be "http%3a%2f%2fwww.w3schools.com".
I know, in this case, the correct answer should be "http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Ew3schools%2Ecom" butI don't understand the reason.
Thanks!

Guys and gals,
This one is driving me wappy!
In our web app, we make heavy use of validators and validation summaries (cos we're good dilligent developers here hehe!)...Up until now, we've been happy with the default behaviour of the summary, in that we were able to slap it onto a page, and let the framework handle showing / hiding. everybody is happy!
Now due to some changes made to our app, we now need the validation summary to be displayed in a different way. Ideally, what I'd like to do would be to embed the VS in a floating div with some headers and styling etc...essentially, so it appears like a "dialog" box.
Now before anyone jumps in with ShowMessageBox="true" , we need something a little "prettier"
Now after much MUCH googling, it appears that the de-rigeur method under 1.x was to hack / override functions found in WebUIValidation.js...all gravy with that, but unfortunately, it's a 2.0 app. Again, after googling, it appears that the functionality has been "absorbed into the framework" (to permit browsers other than IE to use client validation).
So my question is, does ANYONE have a clue how to go about creating a custom ValidationSummary under 2.0?.....Anyone?...Any resources?
Regards,
R

Do you think that it will work with all browsers ? In my point of view better go for writing javascript manually. That will work with less load.

We have done that for our last project. We didn't override existing validators to make new one. We made a development from scratch. Using div and javascript. After all that ported to web user controls. I think you can also follow the same method, ?

Yeah - that's kinda the point really. The original 1.x validators could only validate on the client side under IE, since they used document.all. According to the docs, the 2.0 version removes this limitation, and renders browser-compliant js to the page. Unfortunately, that can't be done using just WebUIValidation.js...

Thinking that may be the only way unless someone else knows any better, but I would have thought that there's a "correct" way to do it?
Thanks for your help anyway

You are getting the page that is in browsers cache. I think you can go for any of the following solution
- Disable browsers caching
- Use javascript to disable back button (Not recommended )
