Quote: but this is a typical scenario.... What is? Restricting people from changing the directory name? It isn't in my experience. It may be in yours but I am not sure how to restrict that.
However, my point still stands, your code should not care what the virtual directory name is. Unless there is some real specific reason to, your code should reference paths using ~ for .net controls, etc.

It's been awhile, but in the properties some where (F4), you can turn off the virtual directory input so it doesn't show during installation.
But I don't see the point in that. Are you going to set it for them?
That installation program is old school and out of date, and only works with metadata and IIS 6 compatibility and management installed with IIS 7+.

At last I have found this. Just removing installation folder node from user interface editor will do this for us.
Thanks for your support.

Oh, you found it finally, You would never know that it was there unless someone tells you, I could not remember the name of the property.

Is this something to do with ASP.NET?

If you know how to add a row using the button click then getting it to happen on text change should be very simple. What exactly are you having trouble with?

Actually when i call add new row function in the text box change ,For every enter event outside the grid also adding row to the grid.I did the row adding by using data table .The code is posted below
private void AddNewRowToGrid()
{
int rowIndex = 0;
if (ViewState["CurrentTable"] != null)
{
DataTable dtCurrentTable = (DataTable)ViewState["CurrentTable"];
DataRow drCurrentRow = null;
int i;
if (dtCurrentTable.Rows.Count > 0)
{
for (i = 1; i <= dtCurrentTable.Rows.Count; i++)
{
//extract the TextBox values
DropDownList drp1 = (DropDownList)Gridview1.Rows[rowIndex].Cells[1].FindControl("drpptype");
//TextBox box1 = (TextBox)Gridview1.Rows[rowIndex].Cells[1].FindControl("TextBox1");
TextBox box2 = (TextBox)Gridview1.Rows[rowIndex].Cells[2].FindControl("txtpnumer");
//TextBox box3 = (TextBox)Gridview1.Rows[rowIndex].Cells[3].FindControl("TextBox3");
drCurrentRow = dtCurrentTable.NewRow();
drCurrentRow["Sl.No"] = i + 1;
drCurrentRow["Column1"] = drp1.SelectedValue;
drCurrentRow["Column2"] = box2.Text;
//drCurrentRow["Column3"] = box3.Text;
rowIndex++;
}
//add new row to DataTable
dtCurrentTable.Rows.Add(drCurrentRow);
//removing first row...
//Store the current data to ViewState
ViewState["CurrentTable"] = dtCurrentTable;
//Rebind the Grid with the current data
Gridview1.DataSource = dtCurrentTable;
Gridview1.DataBind();
DropDownList drp = (DropDownList)Gridview1.Rows[i - 1].Cells[1].FindControl("drpptype");
bindGridviewdrop(drp);
}
}
else
{
Response.Write("ViewState is null");
}
//Set Previous Data on Postbacks
SetPreviousData();
}
And in the page load i'm setting the initial row to the grid..And the setpreviousData() function will set the previous data.In this way i'm adding row.So every post back function adding the new. So can u suggest me a solution for this

Hi all,
I have a control in my master page like this
Logout
How i can hide this in my login page using this master page
|
|
|
|
|
You can define the property on the master page and set its value visibility to true of false on content page by using their property.
|
|
|
|
|
Menu MyMasterMenu = (Menu)Master.FindControl("logoutLink");
MyMasterMenu.Visible = false;
I done like this in my login page but not working
|
|
|
|
|
In the Page_Load() of the Masterpage.cs
try out the following
if(Session["login"]!="")
//make visible the "logout" link
else
//make visible the "login" link
|
|
|
|
|
<a id="logoutLink" runat="server" href="" style="display: none;" class="logout">Logout
|
|
|
|
|
I guess it would be, this is hand type off the top of my head
<asp:Hyperlink runat="server" id="hl_Logout" href="~/Logout.aspx" class="logout" visible="false">Logout
</asp:Hyperlink>
Then in your code behind page on the Page.Load
hl_Logout.visible = False;
|
|
|
|
|
If it were my project I would create this as a server control and have it set its own visibility. That way it could be used anywhere and not so tightly coupled to your masterpage.
Failure is not an option; it's the default selection.

Create two different masterpages one for specifically LoginPage without any Menu or Logout Ribbon and other for after Login with all functionality.

Events are not triggered magically. Look at your code, you are causing it somehow.
Failure is not an option; it's the default selection.

Good for you but much better ways to accomplish. I'll return the 1 vote.
