As I said, server events can not be executed before the data is submitted.
You have to distinguish between the OnClick event of the server control, and the client side onclick event of the html element that the server control creates.
The client side onclick event is executed in the browser before the form is posted. The server side OnClick event is executed on the server after the form has been posted to the server and the server has determined that the form was posted by clicking the element that the server control created.

event handling and data-submission go side by side, so thats not possible. sorry.

Hi
I am exporting one datagrid in .xsl file.
So, On particular button click event i have done all coding to save datagrid in .xsl file.
This is fine.
When i select the path to open-save file dialogue box, my excel sheet will get saved, but i want simultaneously to save one another folder to same path , which i am selecting by this open-save file dialogue box.
How can i retrieve the "file-path" which i am selecting from that open-save file dialogue box ?
I want that "file-path" in one variable which datatype is string.

I don't think you can access the selected path and save another folder on the client machine. Also, you basically do not have permission to access the local file system.

Hi,
I Want to get index of current row in GRIDVIEW(asp.net 2.0) in Row_Command event.......................
Do good and have good.
|
|
|
|
|
You can cast the CommandSource property of the event data instance to the control, and then cast the NamingContainer of the result control to the GridViewRow object. You now can access the index of the current row.

hey guys, well I'm working on a web site, medium sized, pretty heavily data driven. Now I need to pretty much figure out on my own how to make this site more accessible (to comply with American Disability Act).
Anyways here are some of my concerns:
1- Server side controls such as datagrid, repeater, drop down lists, combo boxed and things like that renders HTML 4.01 (XHTML 1). Now I'm no expert in HTML, and that's why this is going to be challenging. So question is if I just dive in the HTML mode of for instance default.aspx page....and start messing around with HTML in their...well chances are design view will disappear if i make a mistake. I need guidance as to what's the best approaach here to make these markup changes.
2- HTML tables, frames and things of that nature don't seem to work well with screen readers (used by blind/low vision folks).
In other words, what is the best approach/practice here. I'm sure some of you guys have done things like this in the past. Please help me out here.
Thanks
Sam
