You can change the date format while retriving on the query itself. Like conver as Varchar.

Hi, can anyone please tell me how to create an excel spreadsheet in asp.net application, with the ability to store multiple datatables/datasets in the same worksheet. Doesn't matter if it's automatic or if I manually have to set each cell's value, headers etc.
And finally prompt the user to save(download) the file.

Nope, unfortunately not. I'm looking for something similar to what www.spreadsheetgear.com provides. Only thing is it's not freeware.
Their code enables you to build spreadsheets and allow download.

My appliction is Online Test and i am getting an issue in the same. I have summarized the issue below. If you have any solution or if you know what causes that then Please let me know.
Issue:

When a candidate starts test I am creating an xml file in page say starttest.aspx in the server its size may vary (maximum size is 60kb). After that I am opening a pop up window say test.aspx and reading the data from xml file displaying the questions and answers. When I read the xml file I am getting the following error “System.Web.HttpUnhandledException: Exception of type System.Web.HttpUnhandledException was thrown. ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file "C:\sahitya.kothuri_7000.xml". File name: "C:\sahitya.kothuri_7000.xml" at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String str) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean useAsync, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize) at System.IO.StreamReader..ctor(String path, Encoding encoding, Boolean detectEncodingFromByteOrderMarks, Int32 bufferSize) at System.IO.StreamReader..ctor(String path) at SkillExaminer.Candidate.CandidateTestXml.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\skillexaminer\candidate\candidatetestxml.aspx.cs:line 120”
I am not getting the error when two people take up test. But when 40 people take test one or two are getting this for rest of them it works fine.
Can you guess what could have caused this problem?

This is because the system is not able to find the file. and the reason could be youare trying to access the file before it is created. Thus the application works when your file is present and otherwise throws an exception.
Fastest way (not the best) to slove ths is Handle the exception, you can do that by putting code (where you try to open the file) in a try catch block, and ask te usr to retry.

Hi all,
I wish to create a Custom Repeater Control and for that Control, i wish to create Templates during Design time. (ie) The Web page designer can put the controls (drag & drop) in the Corresponding Templates.
For that i am using 'ControlDesigner' class to create the necessary Templates for that Custom Repeater Control.
Can anybody pls give me a Nice Article which clearly explains the core concept of this? Thanks.

I have to access to a web service made on non-.net platform like resin and I got this exception:
Possible SOAP version mismatch: Envelope namespace http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/ was unexpected. Expecting http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/.
I'm working with VS2003.
I also tried with VS2005 but the error persists.
What can I do?

I am getting Request timed out error,
actually in my local server i am not getting these error, but when the client uploaded application he is getting these error
I given commondtimeout property in that location like commondtimeout = 600
and also given timeout property in forms authentication like timeout = 60
client cannot given thesituation when he is getting that....

IMO, you may ask your client for more information to diagnose the problem, for example he got that error when he navigates to a specific web page or any page of the application, the information of the environment where the client runs the application may also give you some hints.

hi, im working on an aspx page where i should make a datagrid and that when i click on its button column member the data in the selected row should entered in 2 textboxes in the same page without postback (using ajax), so i did every thing but the page still refreshed (postback) so i have 2 questions:
1) what is the 'url' that should be send to 'callbackmethod()' i send the url of the same page im on?
2) should i not use the datagrid since it has no 'autopostback' property, but even when i use a listbox and set its 'autopostback' property to false none of its events had fired (trigerred)?

Which AJAX library are you using? Or you just use your own script? Perhaps, the reason causing the page post back is the button, you can view source the web page and have a look at the html markup of the button that may give you some hints as to why the button submits the page, it uses its submit action or script to do that.

I am developing application which creates text-box and check box at run time in asp.net using c#.I am adding checkbox n textbox to panel.
as
Checkbox chk=new Checkbox();
this.mypanel.controls.add(chk);
and text box as
Textbox txt=new Textbox();
this.mypanel.controls.add(txt);
by this check box get added successfully.
but when i am going to get the value of that check box n text box it by Find control then it give me error as "undefined".
So I want to access textboxes n checkboxes which r created runtime.

Also, make sure that you should readd the dynamic controls before the postback data is processed, otherwise they get lost, to learn more about this you can see the control life cycle in MSDN.
