I guess you are talking about ASP.NET not Classic ASP.
If you are not able to connect database, please check the ConnectionString. Make sure Server Name given properly.

Hi,
I have some code in javascript, which i dont want to execute on page refresh.
How can i check that page is refresh using javascript
Thanks in advance

Page refresh means the page will be again retrieved from the server.
If one presses ctrl +f5 it will even remove browser cache and then load everything.
so if you want to restrict running a function on page refresh, it will automatically blocked on first run, as it would be unable to check if it is run first or refreshed.
One thing that you can do, is set a cookie in the browser after the page is loaded for first time, then from serverside remove the script when cookie is present.

Hi,
Why do you want to know the page is refresh, or what do you want to do?
If you just want to check the page is refresh, I suggest you creat a variable and change its value when the page is postback,
and use js to check it.

I think the path in the database doesnt maps with your virtual directory.
You must specify a path which the client can directly point, means path relative to virtual directory.
check view-source to see what is the path rendered in the client side.

|
|
|
Can you look at the page source and see if the image urls are being read correctly from the DB.
Also check if the server has access to the locatin of the images.

Hi Vikas,
I think you want to set the image url, so try this....
(Based on the idea that you have told the gridview to have a Template Field)
<asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" ImageUrl='<%# Eval("Product_Image") %>' />
So you would place it inside a template field like below.
<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False"
DataSourceID="ObjectDataSource1">
<Columns>
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Product_Image" SortExpression="Product_Image">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" ImageUrl='<%# Eval("Product_Image") %>' />
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
<asp:BoundField DataField="ProductTitle" HeaderText="ProductTitle" SortExpression="ProductTitle" />
<asp:BoundField DataField="ProductDesc" HeaderText="ProductDesc" SortExpression="ProductDesc" />
</Columns>
</asp:GridView>
I think this is what you might mean.
Hope it helps
Rob

Hi,
You should make sure the path stored in database is right.
Then you can bind the image source, and set the img's src as the page-path: src="<%=eval('path')%>"

We have a aspx website written in VS 2008 and have been asked if it will run on 2008 Server, Enterprise, 64 bit. Will it work? Does the website need to be compiled into 64 bit?

Check this link out: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894435
I switched my internal sites over to x64 a few months back without any major problems. The only thing I remember that seemed a little tricky to me was the web service extensions. The 32bit dot net and 64bit dot net were actually listed seperatly, so after switching it over remember to enable the 64 bit or it will fail.

i'm new to vb n asp.net...i wanna do this without any 3rd party controls...
i need to create a dynamic tab control in asp.net & code behind with vb...so i created a menu and takes its menu items from a table...so far its working fine...
my menu looks something like this,
xxx|yyy|zzz|
i have a textbox when u enter a new menuitem and when i click save the new item will get appended to the present list...
xxx|yyy|zzz|aaa
now when i click say xxx it needs to show a view that has my user control...
since i'm creating menuitems dynamically how do i create views with my user control and link them to the newly created menu item....

Hi,
I suggest you use bind method,
and add the put-in values to the binded source.

I have just switched to IIS 6.0 in windows server 2003 sp2 from IIS 5.1 in Windows xp ,I have problems with configuring the website on the IIS , I have given the directory path, given it IP address ,given default document.
but when I try to access the website through IP address the website opens.
but when I try to enter the userid and password in my website( I am using SQL SERVER 2005),
I get an error:
SELECT permission denied on object 'table_name', database 'my_database', schema 'dbo'
Any help shall be appreciated.
I hope this is the correct forum to post!

Has the Database also been migrated.
In case you have just add give the appropriate permissions to the DB user Id you are using in the connection string

thanks for your reply...
Since i am a begineer, have some basics doubt.....could u please clarify me
1. In order to develop a site with nice UI, is these controls (asp.net ajax) enough?...or should I try different controls like the one provided by Obout.com.....or can I use these controls itself with customize UI...
2. What about the support, ? In case i go ahead with these controls and i am stuck, is the support available?
3. Ajax is wonderful, I jusr read it.....then why people dare not using it with asp.net pages much.....I want to know is there any demerits or something,...if i go ahead with all the pages with fully ajax based controls??
thanks in advance
