As far as I know, I don't think you can use snippet in aspx file. Yeah but in VS 2010 IDE you will be able to use code snippets in aspx.

I see the checknum javascript function defined but not called from anywhere in the code. And also I don't see any onkeypress or onkeydown event handler. If you don't call the function, how it is supposed to work

Hi,
How could I force all tags of a type (e.g. div) apply a setting with any class that was declared for them?
Best wishes

Just declare div in your style sheet-
div
{
font-size: 12pt;
}
Good luck!

you need classes like
a
{
...the style elements...
}
table
{
...the style elements...
}
it needs to be in the .css file
if thats now what you are looking for.. just type a class in the .css .. something like:
.classname
{
...the style elements...
}
after that in the html(asp.net) code use code like:
<div class="classname">
... content ...
</div>
hope it's useful

Hi,
I've built a page that has a GridView using an ObjectDataSource to display data, in pages of 30 rows per page.
The table that's being paged has 26,000 values, and since it's very hard to find a certain value by going one page after
another I'd like to add a search option to the gridview. I've tried switching my datasource from the ObjectDataSource
to a method that retrieves a DataSet with the search results, but that way I can't use the edit or delete buttons and
I will have to implement the RowDeleting and such, and that's too much of a hussle.
What I'm looking for is a way to search through the ObjectDataSource, is it possible? Or would I have to build another
DataSource and keep switching from one to another when searching/viewing all values?
I hope I'm clear.
Thanks

There is a workaround to do this is by setting "DefaultValue" of the "SelectParameters" of your object datasource. This depends on how and what u r calling exaclty

how to save a ppt file in database and retrive it and execute?
|
|
|
|
|
You have to store your file in a BLOB field. Have a look at this link:
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/database/Store_and_manipulat_BLOBs.aspx[^].
To run powerpoint with the ppt-file, just start a process (System.Diagnostics.Process) with passing the name of the ppt-file (you have to store it first on the disk). Windows will know that for ppt-files Powerpoint must be opened. That should work.

Hi all,
Whn im tryin gto run a web application im getting the error pop up "unable to start debugging on the web server.Server side error occured on sending debug http request"
CAn anybody help me to solve the same
Thanks

According to Microsoft KB Article[^], it says : "This problem can occur if there are syntax errors in the ASP.NET application's Web.config file".
|
|
|
|
|
To resolve this problem, make sure that all of the XML in the Web.config file is valid and well formed. Also, remember that everything in Web.config is case-sensitive. You can follow this article with Visual Studio to debug it-
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/e8z01xdh(VS.80).aspx[^]
Good luck!

try giving class="top" to div...
|
|
|
|
|
<div class="top">
i gave this...
and i place this coding in <head> part
<link rel ="stylesheet" type ="text/css" href ="css/king.css" />
nothing happens...
|
|
|
|
|
A couple things. Make sure you enclose your background images in quotes. Next, you want your CSS to declare images relative to where the CSS is located, not where the web pages exists. So, given these three files-
./page.aspx
./css/king.css
./IMAGES/theme1.bmp
...make sure the background image call looks like this-
background-image: url('../IMAGES/theme1.bmp');
Good luck!
