Can any one tell how to call dynamically a confirmButtonExtender in codebehind of aspx page.

something like:
this.ConfirmButtonExtender1.TargetProperties.Remove(this.ConfirmButtonExtender1.GetTargetProperties(this.update));
the above code removes the extender

I want to start my first web based application using ASP.NET , I never did any WEB development . I am good in C# windows forms application and using VS2005 , also I know little HTML .
where is the best first start ? and other software required ? and can anyone provide me with the basic steps to start this application .

Hi
I have a page that brings the all no.of users, visitors, groups, documents in the site from database via webservice. The results from my webservice and database are fast locally and on the remote machine but when I call my webservice from my code its taking more time (I calculated the start and end debugging time with Environment.TickCount;) and it returns the time like 2187 for the first time, 1172 second time call and so on decreases the time. Also it takes time from the javascript call to my page call (means entering my code-behind code, to call the web service), I dont understand whats happening in between that time.
Any Ideas please!!!

hi all ,
i am getting Exception as"Invalid postback or callback argument.
Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or
]]>" while using more than one form tag in a web page. i got soultion by google if i add enableEventValidation="false" application working fine but i am affriding to add it in web.config because how it effect for other controls in my application .please let me know any one knows other soultion for this . or please let me know is it safer way to add this in to web.config.if it causes any problem let me know the problems also if add it in web.confing.

Why do you want to add it to the webconfig, why not just the one page where it is needed?

i can do it for that web page but i have to do it in master page it is inherted for all pages . so ithink it is better to do it in web.config . because we are using fck editor 3rd party control ..in this contorl we have form button while using this button it is creating problem.please let me know if we hav any other options or let me know what are the problems i can face if i make it enableValidateRequest=false.

i am doing a project in .net 2.0 and my os is vistra
sorry my english is too bad. please don't mistake me
in my codebehind file i set "breaking point " in a line.
after i press F11 my project dose not run step by step it is fully debuged.
and i can not get answer while mouseover on the breaking point line in codebehind .

You can go to the watch tab and type in expressions to see their values when you're at a breakpoint.

Hi i am using grid selection index change event...,
when i click a cell value, those values coming to my textbox,
same time grid losing its cursor point...,
it mean if i am showing 50 records in my grid..,
when i select 40th record the value comr yo my textbox and its showing the grid from first data..,
but it have to point in 40th only...,
how to do this?

Hi,
I have a datagrid to which a database table called "employee" need to be binded. there are 9999 records in my table.while i bind the datagrid it takes several minutes for it to load...
is there any other ways to improve its performance so that i can reduce the time of loading the page??
plz reply ASAP...

Well, one common sense UI decision would be to not have 10,000 records in your grid.
The datagrid is designed for common UI tasks. If you need to load 10,000 records, you need to find a commercial grid that deals with this ( essentially by only loading small subsets of that data at a time )

This seems to be a common question in this forum.
Why not cut down the number of records by filtering them, maybe on search criteria by a user.This way not so many are being binded to a datagrid

I'm creating a multilingual website so I'm trying to dynamically include the language related stylesheet. As you might have already expected, I do this in the page head using a link tag. Well, for some reason I'm not aware of, the code below doesn't work (when I move it outside the the page head, it works though!):
<link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/<%= _language.Stylesheet %>" type="text/css" media="screen" />
It gives this output:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/<% _language.Stylesheet %>" type="text/css" media="screen" />
On the other hand this code works perfectly:
<link rel="stylesheet" href=<%= string.Format("\"/css/{0}\"", _language.Stylesheet) %> type="text/css" media="screen" />
This is really weird, can anybody explain what's going on?!!
P.S. This is ASP.NET 2.0
UPDATE
When tried to remove runat="server" from the head tag, it actually worked! The problem is that I set the page title in my code so I have to keep runat="server" in the head tag, it seems like a bug to me, what do you think?

I haven't had such an issue. you can add stylesheets from code behind page. Try that instead of doing this.

I try to run "http://localhost/localstart.asp" but i can't run it with iis 5.0(my machine os is win xp pro sp2 with iis 5.0).
and i got this error
Server Application Error
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance.
So, i decide to reinstall iis and vs.net 2008 and install
- iis
- vs.net 2008
respectively,
for hope that it would re-map iis and asp.net. (- -)!
i've also give ASPNET permission to the virtual directory folder and choose ASP.NET version for it.
but i still didn't work and got the Server Application Error again .
any ideas
