hi i am new user of dot net.
my problem is that i use a master page and master page is fill with categories from tbl_catgory.
when i use <asp:contentplace xmlns:asp="#unknown"> to before datalist then datalist given error with datalist its run but problem is that design is not ardujest like there are 500px space and list is more than 500px then data goes outside the panel.
i use ifrmae but when i click in any link that open in that iframe.
what i do to remove my errors.

Ok. What little I can get from the above mess, is that your Datalist is not working and when you bind your data from the database it extends past the given width of the panel.
Well for the Datalist error if you could post the Error that would help.
I'm assuming that your panel is being Extended to far. Are you using a table, or is the datalist the only thing in the Panel.

(2) without contentplace holder its fill well but its goes out from panel.

problem is that i have a master page that will fill from database and i use datalist to fill description of category and category title but
(1) if i use iframe to show all data when i click on category then child form open with in ifrme so its not suitable.
(2) if i use content place holdet than problem is that my datalist is not fill.
(3) if i use with out content place holder or ifrmae than problem is that datalist is goes beyond my design space?

Hi all,
How can i retrive data from database as it is present Table.
One of columns in my table contains data like this:
"welcome some text goes here,
some text here and spaces some text.
some text here and spaces some text.
some text here and spaces some text.
Thnks & Regards,
some text here and spaces some text."
I saved text like above with spaces and some new lines(by ENTER key)
It is saved as it is shown as above.
But when i retrive data from this table , I am getting everything in single line, no spaces and newlines. ie., I am not getting as it was present table. For sample iam getting above text like this :
"welcome some text goes here,some text here and spaces some text.some text here and spaces some text.some text here and spaces some text.Thnks & Regards,some text here and spaces some text."
Please sugeest me.

Bind it in HTML literal control.Or you can also use server.HtmlEncode or server.Decode method.

Hmmm, doesn't this lists the fonts installed on the server? How is this going to work with the fonts on the client side?

I am not sure if you can get the fonts installed on the client machine. You can embed known fonts with your editor and let the user select only from your fonts though.

Hi,
You could write a javascript for the client-side which checks for a selection of common fonts, and then postback an array of boolean values to the server indicating which of those fonts were found. It is probably best to stick to web-safe fonts.

I have a combobox which loses the selected item when ever there is a postback on the page.
I dont have code to assign a value on it during postpage(im just uisng the combobox to select a value and save it).
