I have a problem regarding grid view.I want to clear gridview without postback is it possible.I am using Asp.Net2.0 and C#.net

What does it mean ? Clear gridview mean no DataSource of Gridview.

Actually problem is that as I am showing detail in on click of view button but I want to clear the detail on selected change event of dropdown list box.But problem is that,that dropdown list box is in update panel.

There is two solution
1. Put the Gridview on the same updatepanel where the dropdownlist is ( if no designing issue)
2. Put Gridview to another Updatpanel. Change the UpdatePanel property UpdateMode="Conditional" . Now on selectedIndexChanged of dropdownlist , update the Updatepanel of gridview UpdatePanel2.Update()
[Assume Updatepanel2 is the updatepanel which hold the gridview ]

I think, Option 2 is best for you !!!

i m using jquery datepicker with gridview (in Template field) but it shows only in first row of gridview in rest rows it is missing
how can i solve it

Question for a project

Background info:
I am currently working on a project to make scheduling university classes for students easier. The problem I am trying to solve is how does a student pick 5 classes that will all fit in there daily schedule (no over lap ect). So the idea is I will create a web based program that will allow the user to select the classes they want and I will try to find a schedule that will work (looking through all the different lecture sections, lab sections etc).

My question:
I will be loading the class information from a database to the website, I would like to prevent post backs when getting information.

For example:
The user would select what faculty they want to take the class from using a drop down list, once they have selected there faculty another drop down list will be populated with all the available classes.

I would like to prevent a post back when the information is feed into the second drop down list. Can this be done? Should I load all the information at once?

If you know Ajax then use Ajax Update Panel and put Dropdown list boxes in it.

If you want to prevent PostBack, This can be the best option for your sites. or use Client side controls.

and I have a serious problem in my website...

I'm handling a login project, where let the user to login in pageA before entering pageB or pageC. When running at localhost, everything was fine.

Now the problem is when i put into the webserver. The session timeout within 30sec or less eventhough i had code :-

set Session(Login) = user in pageA
-
Session.Timeout = 60 (in pageB & pageC during
pageload!)

If Session(Login) = Nothing Then

respone.redirect(PageA) Else ...............

Although I set the session timeout in web.config as well,

it didn't work

in web.config:
I set the session state to be inProc (didn't work)
also i did:
<sessionState
mode="StateServer"
stateConnectionString="tcpip=65.182.97.156:42424"
cookieless="false"
timeout="20" />
and it didn't work...

Hi there,
Q-1) I have a login page.On that page there is a Forget Password link button.On click of that link button I am opening a window with the help of windows.open().The window is opening properly.But what I want to do is that I don't want to show the Buttons(Minimize,Maximize,close)present in title bar.Is it possible.If any body knows please help me.

Q-2)And my second question is weather it is possible to open a page in div tag using javascript.

Ans 1. You can not disable minimize and close button of Web App. If you use dialog window then maximize can be disabled.

Ans 2. Yes, you can open a page in DIV tag.
