If you're doing mobile development, why limit yourself to one platform? That's a bit short sighted if you want to maximize your revenue.

Big Bear Phone - (iPhone) - thinks it's the bees knees, may very well be the bees knees but expensive
Mama Bear Phone - (WP7,WP8) - too all over the show
Baby Bear Phone (Android) - a flavor to suite basically any need, highly customizable, good quality phone and can be bought with just about any size budget...

I'm not sure where they're fooling us on the WP7->WP8. They said that all apps that run on WP7 will automatically run on WP8. Is there something else I'm missing?

even if it's possible, according to news i read, upgrading windows phone 7.5 to 8 is not possible. For example, the great Nokia Lumia.
I heard that this smartphone will be obsolete in less than 1 year since launched.
Buying this smartphone will end in tears.

I Use Visual Studio 2008 C# Language On Windows Server 2008 and Develop a pocket pc using Windows Mobile 5.0.
This is the Code for Calling Hello World Web Service:

string strHello=ser.HelloWorld();

The Error "Could not establish a network connection "
show at all time when i start run the program using the emulater.

The only help I can give is you need to provide more information. Are you talking about Windows Mobile 6?
What operating system/language etc?
Show the code that is failing.
Is this on a real device or an emulator?

Information like that are going to help get answers.

i'm c# and vb.net programmer using visual studio 2010 and microsoft sql server. at the first time, i'm interested in developing windows phone 7.5 application and games, i've downloaded and attached the SDK in my visual studio. however, i heard an issue that Windows Phone 8 will launch soon, looks like i'd better wait until it launched.
nah, while waiting for this new OS, i'm planning to write blackberry application for BB OS 5-7.
is this a good plan or what?

As I understand it, Blackberry has peaked and fading, I'd go for Android or iOS (Apple).
iOS development required a Mac, so the cheap option, unless you have a Mac, is to go Android.

Android is Java, so much of your C# experience is transferable. iOS requires knowledge in Objective C which isn't a big stretch but you would do well to buy a book on the language before diving in.

You are right to an extent . The reason I am saying this is because BB customers are of upper middle class and are ready to pay for good service. If your target is to generate revenue then BB is still the best bet. Rest depends upon your idea. For Android and iOS they are the future specially Android.

Midnight Ahri, the idea is brilliant but you rightly said that windows 8 is going to get launched. I would recommend you to go ahead with your plan to develop app for BB OS 5-7.

actually i develop application not 100% for income.
i have two smartphone here, iPhone 4 and Blackberry 9790.
and a notebook using windows 7.
i don't have android smartphone and macbook.
that's why i choose blackberry first.
but i still don't get what SDK should i use. Frown | :(
