maybe write your handler like so.

JavaScript
function load_orderDetails(ele) {
    ele.onclick = '';

    // do your work here for loading whatever
}


just make sure when you call it you pass it the element that you want disabled. just by chance are you using jQuery because there are message handlers that will do this for you??
