retaining jquery datepicker data between views in ASP:MultiView

Let me preface this question with the fact that I am fairly inexperienced with jquery. Now to the issue, I have 3 date pickers that are placed upon two different views in an ASP:MultiView. They are working perfectly, no issues at all.

I need to retain the values entered in two of the inputs which I can do to one or the other but not both for some reason. each of these reside on a different view so I am not sure if that is the issue or not. In the code below, the data will be retained for the first if statement only. If I switch the if statements then the opposite input will retain its value but never both items. What am I doing wrong? Each if statement pertains to a different control so it is not supposed to be an if else type of scenario. It is like only one if statement is allowed to fire and I have been staring at this for a while with no idea what is happening so any help would be great.

I am missing something with these frameworks. They seem pretty cool for some things, but how do you secure the REST service?

With these frameworks you have the URLs for your REST service sitting in JavaScript code on the client, in theory anyone could check the URL for your call to, say, change your password.

How do you secure the service so that I can't check the URL and just try to call the REST service directly and affect other users?

A GUID user ID that is passed in might help, but is this the best/only method for securing your REST service from a client?

using document.forms["MbrForm"].submit(); does not work - help!

I have a form that I need to have two means of submitting the form. The first way is with the standard submit button. This works just fine. I also need to submit the form after the htm page has been printed using a button that calls a "printpage" function. This function prints the page, displays an alert and then is supposed to submit the form. It does everything except for submit the form. Any help figuring out why is appreciated.

You didn't share remaining code. onreadystatechange[^] is right one which have you used.

I think the problem occurs somewhere out of this code. What's the value of req object? What did you get from req.statusText? Debug it, you could solve the issue.

Script running multiple times

I have a jQuery script that is listening for keydown on a textbox, like so:

My problem is that I have written this for a site architected and hosted by a 3rd party. This site allows you to move modules around the page if you wish.

When my module is moved (sometimes! not all the the time) it appears as if the page creates more instances of my code. As a result the code in the keydown function fires multiple times.

A few things:
1. I put an alert in the document.ready and can see it pop up multiple times, so I know the page it loading more instances of my javasvript.

2. When looking in the debugger in IE or Firefox I can't find more than one instance of the script, but a breakpoint on the one I can find will be caught only once. Whereas the code does run multiple time. Again and alert in the function can be seen multiple times.

I've tried unbinding events from my textbox before binding, but it doesn't work.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I can prevent my code from being instantiated or triggered multiple times?

You could have a look at what other events are firing when the stuff is moved around. You could then use these to suspend the kepress actions and then re-enable them post move.

I faced a similar situation when I had rendered the same parent script at multiple locations e.g. master / child pages and so on.

I am no coding expert in any way, but I have coded a neat little thing to tell if a Node is up/down, I use some PHP script and chuck it into a table (It can be seen below, and yes , I know it is probably very messy, but I am new to this). I am now looking to add desktop notifications to tell the user when a Node pings back as down, and I understand that I will need to use JSON for this? But that is what I am stuck on. Use a common function that is executed when either dropdown value is changed. This function will compare the currently selected values in each of drop downs and alert the user in someone.

How you exactly do this is up to you, but start by looking at detecting a 'change' in the dropdowns Smile | :)

Hi , i have a web method from which i am returning Date it is returning date like "Mon Sep 30 07:26:14 EDT 2013" now when i am converting formatt of date in my javascript code

It seams like a time-zone problem...
IE9 shows EDT (UTC-4) and IE7 shows IST (UTC+5:30)...
Can you check the time-zone settings fro your machines?

I have my code structured in such a way that clicking on an 'Edit' button displays a hidden form (written in embedded ruby) within a 'div' html tag and within that form is a text_field_tag whose id is used to tie to a datepicker using Jquery.

Using my current view code and jquery datepicker code in rails : I can click on an edit button and select a date using the text_field_tag for each form. However, when I try to submit that datepicker value it only gets submitted for the first form (for the first 'td element).

Im guessing im doing something wrong with the Jquery code.Can anyone guide me as to how I can submit the datepicker value for the corresponding form (the closest form within 'td' on button click) as opposed to only submitting for the first form(first 'td' element)

Only one DOM element can have the same id (user_input in your case).

Remove id repetitions and add to your date input fields the same class name:

...

From this moment you can easily bind datepicker to all input elements by their common class:

$('input.dateinput').datepicker();

Or you can use input fields with "numerated" names like "name="date_1","date_2" etc.
and use jQuery selector like this:

$('input[name^=date_]').datepicker();

(^= means "name begins with ...)

The first day is always going to be 1
Every month almost has 31 days
You count your knuckles, forward and backwards
Jan = 31
Fed = 28

Hello everyone! Please help me out of this stuff. I am trying to design a website(Live score site) that will prompt visitors to register or login before accessing the "LiveScore.html" page. The constraints I am having now are listed below:
1. How to connect the registration page to ms sql 2005 database with a table named VisitorsInfo,
2. How to save the registree info to the database with a table named VisitorsInfo,
3. And, how to query the database for visitors info when trying to login(if the visitor info is found, then access should be granted else denied). Note: visitors will login using passcode and email.
