Hello,
My name is Willie Jammer. I used to use this website to send braille to my friend in Winters, California.
It's to bad I can't do that online anymore.
Is there anyway that you can bring it back?
There were fields where I would put my friend's mailing address and zipcode and post my braille letter to the postoffice.
I'd like that back.
Sincerely yours,
Willie Jammer

This question would probably get a better response if posted in "Site Bugs/Suggestions".
Just say 'NO' to evaluated arguments for diadic functions! Ash

Not sure if this is what you are after?

Just download the Zip file and away you go.

My dot net application displays a Html page on a web control.
The html page has a javascript embedded in it.
The html page has button on it.
When the html button is clicked, Java script lanches a print dialog using JScript's <code>Window.print().</code>
There is some other application (Kind of Monitor) which closes the Dot net Window. As the control in the Dot net window hosts the Html, the html also unloaded.
Problem:
The print dialog launched by the JScript <code>Window.print()</code> call still displayed. <big>How do I close the print dialog using the JScript?</big>
Thanks in Advance

I don't think you can close the print dialog from javascript. If that is possible, think of all the security issues that could arise.

Hi,
Inside a div I have a horizontal navigation bar and some images, which are links, below the bar. I am unable to control the spacing between the images and the bar, i.e. I wish to move the images up, closer to the bottom of the bar, but am unable to do so. I have tried everything I could think of, margins, padding, etc. but nothing seems to be working. I wonder if anyone has any solutions? All help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried using negative margin values?

In JScript1.js, I defined a function like this:
=================================================
var count = 0;
function changeDefaultStatus() {
var arr = new Array("haoyong", "hao123", "12wangzhi", "123", "state");
if (count >= 5)
count = 0;
top.defaultStatus = arr[count];
count++;
}
=================================================
And use the function like this:
=================================================
//the code below does not work
<script>
setInterval("changeDefaultStatus();", 2000);
.......
//But if I move the code to here, it works
setInterval("changeDefaultStatus();", 2000);
====================================================
when a page is being loaded, how does the "src" works? the explorer will wait for "JScript1.js"'s loading, or just load it in the background.
Thank you
|
|
|
|
|
Every opening <script> tag requires a closing </script> tag, including the one with src="" .
The opening <script> you have with the src="./JScript1.js" attribute is being closed by the </script> that is after the setInterval call. Any code within <script></script> that has a src attribute is ignored.

In Dreamware~press "CTRL+ALT+F" you ca isnert a FLASH video with URL,see code as follows
----------------------------------------------
1. <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="32" height="32">
2. <param name="movie" value="http://player.56.com/v_NTcxMTA1Njc.swf" />
3. <param name="quality" value="high" />
4. <embed src="http://player.56.com/v_NTcxMTA1Njc.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="32" height="32"></embed>
5. </object>
--------------------------------------------------------
my script is not very good~ but i'm guess this is FLALSH's address~
<embed src="http://player.56.com/v_NTcxMTA1Njc.swf"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
so, i would like to ask the question~as i'm in the middle with Javascript<boyd> defines a variable to hold the FLASH's address,as follow~
1. <script>
2. var a = "http://player.56.com/v_NTcxMTA1Njc.swf";
3. </script>
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

You could use the following piece of code in place of the string constant currently in the HTML
<script type="text/javascript">document.write(a);</script>
So it may look like:
<script type="text/javascript">
var a = "http://player.56.com/vNTcxMTA1Njc.swf";
</script>
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="32" height="32">
<param name="movie" value="http://player.56.com/v_NTcxMTA1Njc.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<embed src=">script type="text/javascript">document.write(a);</script>" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="32" height="32"></embed>
</object>

i'll make my web page to just like desktop of windows.
there are small icons, and they can move by user drag, as you know.
so, i plan to use jquery ui, http://jqueryui.com/demos/sortable/display-grid.html[^].
i wonder how to add item dynamically, and notify item double-click.
help.
|
|
|
|
|
To add items dynamically, it looks like you would have to add another DOM element and then call the sortable initializer on the entire set of elements again. So you may have a button that adds a dom element to a div container with the id 'sortable'. Then call the method below.
$( "#sortable" ).sortable();
For the double click functionality, I would use jQuery's dblclick API. So while you're creating the DOM element above, right before you call sortable(), I would attach a double click handler like so:
$('#target').dblclick(function() {
alert('Handler for .dblclick() called.');
});
|
|
|
|
|
Its unnecessary to add the handler to each element that is added. Use the Live[^] function to have it applied to all elements, now and future.
I know the language. I've read a book. - _Madmatt

This is a strange one, I've found nothing on Google etc as yet...
I'm finding an error in my error logs more and more frequently, it's an http exception with the error message: Exception message: Path 'zGET' is forbidden.
It only seems to happen against images, and the first instance I've found of it is from back in mid march this year. It doesn't correspond with any changes on our web server as that hasn't been touched since before then (not even for critical updates.. but that's another issue I have altogether..)
My first thought was that it was an actual permissions problem, as we've had that on another server, and resetting the permissions on the affected images did seem to solve the issue when we saw it first hand, however, I think it was a coincidence as the other logged errors weren't spotted by us and so resolved themselves.
It's a windows 2003 server, iis6, website's .net 3.5
It doesn't seem to be browser specific, first one I found was for opera 9.23 on linux. But we ad it happening on chrome, IE9, IE8, FF 3.5 too..
Has anyone heard of anything like this before, it has me and my colleagues somewhat stumped at present.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Sort of, yes - along these lines[^] - but I assume you've looked into that....?

I'd had a brief look into that, and have seen the solution is to add in a handler such as:
< add path="*" verb="OPTIONS" type="System.Web.DefaultHttpHandler" validate="true"/>
Obviously I'd need to change the verb OPTIONS to zGET, but all I've seen so far have been references to verbs used by webdav, which I confess I know nothing about.
I have found no reference to this zGET though and am wondering what could be causing this request. I'm not keen on adding a handler for a verb I can't find any reference to, at least not until I know it's an innocent http request.
Thanks for the link

the only ZGET things I can find are a PHP function (which sounds like something you don't want happening), and a Trojan downloader.
Maybe folks with infected computers are browsing your site?
|
|
|
|
|
hmmm..
That's all we could find too.. I which case I guess I'll just ignore it for now, just a shame as it's about the only error we seem to be getting now days.
Thanks for the input folks.
