Hi,
I'm looking for a cheap and easy way to update a link in a frame window from another frame. Say I've got two documents in my two frames('Left' and 'Left'). When document 'Right' loads I'd like to update document 'Left': I've written a simple function which is called onLoad():
<br />
function UpdateLocation(sURL)<br />
{<br />
TopWndDoc = top.frames(0).document;<br />
if (document.all)<br />
{<br />
TopWndDoc.all.Navigator.href=sURL;<br />
TopWndDoc.all.Navigator.title ='ChristSake!';<br />
} <br />
else if (document.getElementById) <br />
{<br />
}<br />
}
How do I get the text of the hyperlink changed? Yes, the stuff between the opening and closing tag. Any chance? Please?
Thanks in advance...
Matthias

Lets say I have a site called www.mypage.com. If I have
a subpage, then it might be called:
www.mypage.com/sub.htm
How can I make that subpage look like:
www.sub.mypage.com
instead. I see this on a few sites, but I don't know
how it's done.
Please any response any one can give me will be greatly
appreciated.

Contact your Webhosting admin. It would be possible with their' permission only.

This seems to be something which is happening only on my computer, but I am hoping that someone has a clue about what is going on or has a link that might help.
I created a web page with this text in it:
<a href="http://www.blogger.com/"><img src="http://buttons.blogger.com/bloggerbutton1.gif" width="88" height="31" border="0" alt="This page is powered by Blogger. Isn't yours?"></a>
What is very odd is that when I check in the web browser on my local computer, it appears as I would expect. However, when I upload to the website and check, not only does it not display properly, but the source displays it as being this:
<a href="http://www.blogger.com/"></a>
If I remove the 'height="31"', it looks right and the source is displayed. This is driving me crazy and it doesn't seem to happen on other computers, so I think there is something wrong here. I have run adaware and spybot but neither come up with anything. I have norton running in the background, as well.
Any ideas? Thank in advance.

Huh... it seems to be Norton Internet Security which is removing it, but I am not sure why. When I disable NIS, the image displays perfectly.

OK, not that anyone cares, but I found the problem. Ad blocker was turned on in NIS and was removing the link. Once I turned of ad blocker, everything worked great.

Hello !
My problem is many-faceted, but simple.. I have a page that is running a PHP script, and this script has a set of methods which you can normally call from the page, if you have buttons or links there. But, the page also hosts an ActiveX control, and the control should be able to call these methods, supplying necessary parameters, to make the PHP script change the page layout.
Can anyone give ma clue on where to start ? The control does not need to work on any other browser than Internet Explorer, and if necessary, it can use a self-built WebControl component (independent page viewer), so that you must start the actual program to view the page where the control and the script are.
But, the best solution would be the ability to call PHP functions from the control itself. The script is able to handle the page layout changes requested by the control, then.

Is there any way to display a web page with upper part and lower part, where only the lower part would be scrollable ?
Upper part might contain some image and lower part might contain
some very wide table. Hovever, I would like the scroll to apply only to the lower part of the page: the upper image should stay always in the same place regardles of the scroll-bar position.
If I create a web page likie this:
<html>
<!--upper part-->
<img src="..."/>
<!--lower part-->
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<td>
<td>
<td>
... many table cells, making it very wide
<td>
<td>
<td>
<td>
</tr>
</table>
</html>
the scroll applies also to the image, what is natural. I would like
it would not.
Thanks in advance

I would do it with two DIVs. Set them both to a fixed height (e.g. 50% of the body height each). Then set overflow: auto; on the bottom DIV.

I have ASP code which uses WScript.Shell object to run an exe file on the server. This code use to work fine but we just rebuilt the server and it stopped working.
The server is internal server and Anonymous Access has been disabled. It only uses windows authentication.
The exe file copies image from other server to local folder and 3 window user groups has been given full permission to this folder.
When I logon as an authenticated user and loads the page it doesn't executes the exe file any more.
If I run the same command line locally on the server, it works fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

Thinking out loud but is the inet user or the user assigned to that application in IIS in the right groups with the right permissions?
When you run the command locally on the server are you logged in as the same authenticated user that doesn't work from executing the page?

Since anonymous access is disabled, I think inet user doesn't need any extra permissions.
When I run the command locally I'm logged on as user who has all permissions to that target folder.
The same code with same IIS settings working on another server but on this server there is something missing and I don't know what that setting is.
Somehow IIS doesn't allow browser to execute the exe file. I tried to do the same by creating a dos batch (.bat) file and map the drive to copy file from other server and it works fine.
It can run the .bat file but not the .exe file.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your time and help.

Does anyone know how to make MS Visual InterDev <!-- show this text --> in the source view? I have been unable to find a setting for this. All the source view shows is <! >; when I am editing in raw HTML I want to see everything.

Haven't got it installed anymore and I may be completely wrong but don't you just right click the "show this text" bit and one of the options is to reveal? Apologies if that is wrong.

Any got a good article or somethin about licensing ActiveX-components. I’ve read MSDN but not satified.
I don’t realy get the point of how to distribute the lic-file and where my customers should place the file to make my ActiveX run on their cpu-s.

I am writing a tool band object using C++ and Visual Studio.NET 2003. The
toolband object is a regular ATL/C++ dll inproc server project.
Environment: Windows XP Professional SP 1, Visual Studio.NET 2003 installed, IE
6.0 SP1 (all the Windows update patches applied for everything)
The object (CToolBand) is derived from the classes CComObjectRootEx,
CComCoClass, IObjectWitSiteImpl, IDispatchImpl, IInputObject and IDeskBand.
The SetSite method is implemented as follows (excerpts with error handling
stripped out):
STDMETHODIMP CToolBand::SetSite(IUnknown *punkSite)
{
m_spSite = pUnkSite;
....
CComPtr<IServiceProvider> spService;
m_spSite->QueryService(IID_IServiceProvider, (void **)&spService);
CComPtr<IServiceProvider> spService2;
spService->QueryService(SID_STopLevelBrowser, IID_IServiceProvider, (void **)&spService2);
spService2->QueryService(SID_SWebBrowserApp, IID_IWebBrowser2, (void **)&m_spWebBrowser2);
CComQIPtr<IConnectionPointContainer> spCPC = m_spWebBrowser2;
CComPtr<IConnectionPoint> spCP;
spCPC->FindConnectionPoint(DIID_DWebBrowserEvents2, &spCP);
spCP->Advise(GetUnknown(), &m_dwCookie);
}
The Invoke is also implemented as:
STDMETHODIMP CToolBand::Invoke(...)
{
if(dispid == DISPID_BEFORENAVIGATE2)
{
ATLTRACE(_T("BeforeNavigate2"));
}
return E_NOTIMPL;
}
What I cannot understand is that I receive BeforeNavigate2, NavigateComplete, DocumentComplete, Quit, PrivacyImpactedStateChange events (and also the TitleChange, Progress, StatusTextChange, PropertyChange etc.).
But I DO NOT receive the SetSecureLockIcon (DISPID_SETSECURELOCKICON) at all, although I am sure that I tested with a SSL 128bit site.
In my header file this DISPID have the value 269 (ExDispID.h)
In fact, I made a sample VB application with a form hosting a web browser control, and I received the setSecureLockIcon event, so I don't think is something from my browser settings.
I suspect that is something regarding the current implementation of SetSite and/or Advise methods, since this is not a web browser control, but a toolband object hosted in the rebar control.
Maybe I query for the wrong IWebBrowser2 object? I get the application object, but the SetSecureLockIcon event is fired for the browser control and not the browser application?
I feel that I mismatch something.
I can't wait the replies!
Thank you,
Cristian Amarie

In netscape 7.1 the height of the popup is comin much less
even in mozilla 1.4 the same problem is there, can any one help
the following is the code used by me
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE> New Document </TITLE>
<SCRIPT language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
<!--
var win=null;
function NewWindow(mypage,myname,w,h,scroll) {
settings='width='+w+',height='+h+',scrollbars='+scroll+',location=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,toolbar=no,resizable=no';
win=window.open(mypage,"",settings);}
// -->
</SCRIPT>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<B>
<A href="mypage.html" onClick="NewWindow(this.href,'popup','250','150','no');return false" onFocus="this.blur()">click here</A>
</BODY>
</HTML>

Use a proper measurement unit, don't leave it up to the browser to guess. So instead of '250' and '150' use '250px' and '150px'.
